I just made mention of these things in another thread to someone. Which made me realize I don't think I've seen any comments about adding these things to keys etc for tracking down 'lost'/misplaced keys...

    Anyone tried these out yet?

Curious minds might like to know!

two years ago I looked into the tile....

what I didn't like about them is when the battery needs changing one has to send it back
and they exchange it for another.. and your without the benefit of the device

then I found the Tracker, and this device I can change the battery as needed myself

I bought 5 and got 3 free I think and gave them for holiday gifts

it works well and am still happy having this gizmo on my keys

I use Tile and have been happy with the (4). Found my phone and keys multiple times. When you have to replace the old ones after a year, the company sends you the new ones and you activate them, which deactivated the old ones. There is no loss of service. I have not looked into the the ones with replaceable battery but that might be an idea.

As a side note, people also use them hidden in their vehicles. Does anyone know if the tracker crowdsourcing is as strong as Tile? I see there are usually around 400 other tiles in my area. When something goes missing the tiles of other members ping the missing Tile to help find it. I haven’t had to use that yet.

Just to be upfront: I was sent a Tile for free so that I could do a review of it for the radio station I work for.

I have it in my wallet, I have lost my wallet many times, not I can find it. There was one time I dropped my phone in a bar and used the Tile to find it. While I, initially, got a Tile for free I have bought six of them, Several of my friends are getting them as Christmas.

I love the fact you can change the ringtone...

Surely they aren't using Tile as a low budget alternative to sources like LoJack to track down stolen vehicles are they?

I just got a KeySmart Pro. the battery time is pretty good and has a flashlight built in. The Tile software is good.

On a personal basis. I’m trying it too.

Ok, I'm going to try to resurrect this thread. For those of you who have a Tile on their keys, how often do you use it? I've been revamping my key setup lately, and I'm trying to determine if I should keep my Tile in the mix. I've had one on my keys for almost two years, but I've never had a need as I have never lost my keys. Is peace of mind justification enough for the extra bulk and noise, or should I just ditch it now and call it good?

I've had a tile on my key ring and in my wallet for years. You don't need the tile until you need the tile :rolleyes_revamped:. However, I've recently purchased a few Air Tags, which I consider superiorto the tile when trying to locate a lost item. So, I've replaced the Tile on my keyring with an Air Tag. I still have the tile in my wallet because of its thin, credit-card size form factor.

Considered Tile for a good while, but never jumped the fence.

Like @echo victor I think the Air Tags looks more promising at this point.
Will try when I get around to it.

I have tried the TrackR built into a Keyport, the Tile Pro (with replaceable battery), and XY3.1 trackers.

The Tile Pro is my favorite, hands down. My wife and two of my friends have them on their keys. They are a bit bulkier than some other options, but they work.

The TrackR worked, too, just not quite as well. In all fairness, though, it was an earlier version of such devices.

The XY3.1 trackers did work most of the time, but there was a bit of lag time in them responding. I've got a couple boxes of the things sitting unused.
