Thanks, I actually tweeted the same question to BigIDesign last night and they replied, said they weren't sure but they would order some and let me know. :) Great customer service!

    +1 for the Pen.
I'd love to have the same model with a slightly bigger diameter for my big'ish hands but otherwise it's the perfect edc pen.

I forgot to come back and report. They received the Power Tank refills and tweeted that they are too thick and won't fit. Bummer, but what great customer service for them to take those steps to answer my question!

I just ordered my SECOND Pocket Pro.

I have the black one, now I have the stonewashed one on the way. Keeping the black one in my work bag, I use it every day with a Uni Jetstream 0.5 black refill, pairs perfectly with a Rite in the Rain notebook. Going to keep the stonewashed titanium one at home to use with some gel refills like Uni Signo and Pentel Energel. Can't wait, I love these pens!

Has anyone tried to take it apart? I bent the clip a little bit and tried to unscrew the top, but even with as much force as I trusted to use without damaging anything, it would come loose a bit, but no further.

    It can be done!
    1. Unscrew grip portion, exactly as if you plan to replace the refill
    2. Remove refill
    3. Gaze into the upper part of the pen (using a flashlight if your eyes are as old as mine) and spy something that looks a lot like a flathead screw
    4. Get a long, skinny-shafted flatblade screwdriver of the right width, and unscrew it
    5. The top unscrews, allowing you to remove and rebend the pocket clip

Does a Fisher Space Pen refill fit, without modification?

According to the company’s website, the answer is yes when using the adapter that comes with the PR series refills.

A question to the fellow users of the pocket pro:

Mine started gripping the tip of the refill about a week after I got it. It basically happened when I switched the refill it came with with a Schneider Slider 755 XB.
I blamed it on the refill and kept using it. When that one was done, I tried out several others, with the same result. When I twist the pen to deploy the tip, everything is fine - but when I'm done and twist the pen to have the tip go back in, it gets stuck in the firm grip of this black thing inside the pen and I need to push it in.

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about:

    Am I doing something wrong?

I can't see the pic either.

My suggestion is to contact the manufacturer and let them know -- I'm hoping that they'll take good care of you.

Definitely odd. I have two Pocket Pros and I've never had any similar issues.

Send an email (preferably with photos) to Big I Design, they are very responsive with excellent customer service. They'll get you fixed up somehow.

I've had things like this happen with various bp pens. For example a Caran d'Ache 849 for a while became a bit finicky.

Regardless of manufacturer, in each case the problem was the end of the spring in the tip of the barrel. Eventually resolved themselves... I suspect just a bit of interference where the spring coil id and the od at the tip of the refill were having a tad of an interference fit.

My conclusion was that for all too many pens, refills, and manufacturers of the same, these are such low value components that tolerance conflict will sooner or later show up as interference...

    L'chaim!

Looks like the paint or sticker is catching. Perhaps try removing it from the refill (as opposed to sanding the bore of the pen).

It seems to be an issue with the spring.
It took BigIdesigns mere minutes to get back to me and provide support.
A replacement spring will be on its way on Monday.
