Thinking of getting one. Really cheap, cheap ammo, compact. I think I really like it, but what do you guys think about it?

Love mine but can be picky with the ammo. Very accurate. I tend to stay away from any hollow points.

They seem to be hit or miss (pardon the pun) when it comes to their operational quality. I have a few friends who own P22's. Some love them. Others hate them. As relates to cheap ammo ... have you tried to purchase .22 ammo lately? It's pretty much unobtainium these days.

I've handled one, but never fired it.

what is the guns intended use. CCW? Home defense? Range queen?

    If for HD go bigger.

Never had an issue with mine, but I don't run bulk packaged ammo either.

I think that is key. Also lots of lube and clean.

I was at Gander Mtn yesterday - they had plenty of 223....NO 22LR unless you can buy 1600rnds at a time!

Not a p22 ... But I've got a Ruger SR22 semi auto that I really like. It shoots anything I've put through it. Reason I choose it over the Walther.

I have a P22 and my main issue is how small it is in my hands. Otherwise it's a great gun. It'll typically chew through the Walmart bulk Federal with an occasional failure to feed.

I'm looking into a different .22 right now, something bigger.

This, the Ruger is around $325-$375 depending on the store. They're not easy to come by.

I have used mine alot key is to keep it clean and lubed. Mine has chewed through a few thousand rounds I know when it starts to get dirty it will have a fail to feed a few times in a clip, I will just clean it some and keep on shooting till I get to the house for a good cleaning.
