Good luck on the interview and I hope they give you a call back! That's a really neat story behind your watch. It makes it that more special when you have that type of sentimental memories behind it.

Haven't heard back from the interview, but it went great!

I have since ordered a Seiko SNZG15 to fill my want for a pilot-style watch. Got a great deal on it, $75!

I also spent some time this weekend making a deep-carry pocket clip for my Benchmade 51:

    Finished product:

The clip was an unbent titanium "blank" from USAKnifeMaker, here are some pics of the process. I used a bench vise, propane torch, hammer, two pairs of pliers, and a drill.

    Blank clip next to knife:

    Blank clip by itself:

Grinding down the screw side for my purposes:

    Screw side ground down:

Ready for heat and the first bend:

    Successful first bend:

    First bend:

Bending around a paint can opener:

    Finished the full 180° bend:

    Drilling for the pins:

    The pin fits!

All in all I'm SUPER happy with the clip, it now rides nice and low like I wanted:

My new watch arrived today and I couldn't be happier!

I'm super happy with the size, the perfect "large" watch for my 6.5" wrists. This is the first automatic I've bought and I'm really hoping it keeps better time than my vintage Omega which loses about a minute a day (I'm sure it will), I'll be tracking it with the "WatchCheck" app on my phone.

It's beautiful, feels like a very high end watch in my opinion. I put it on a leather strap I ordered but decided the included canvas strap is more to my liking, I really like it! Right down to the enormous buckle. The lume is incredible as I expected but I didn't realize how much more I like just having it on the markers instead of a full lume dial like my Seiko Sports 100 Chrono.

I'm in love with the watch and can't to show it off tomorrow!

    Today's EDC:

Only changes are the Buck Marksman 830 in place of my BM51 and my new Seiko SNZG15 in place of my Seiko Sports 100 Chrono. Loving the automatic movement so far!

    Today's Carry:

Went a little light; didn't carry my Field Notes or light and swapped the Buck 830 for my Spyderco Caly 3.

Man I can't stop staring at my new watch...

Also, found some monster 'shrooms in the yard this morning:

Well with the help of the "WildSpectra" app I was able to regulate the watch to 0 sec/day. Now I'll track it with "Watchcheck" and see if it's really that precise :)

Well over the course of 3 days the Seiko has average +4.2 seconds/day which is WAY better than +42 seconds/day like before! Now I'll only gain 2 minutes in a month instead of 20 which would have been ridiculous.

Now I'm wondering if I should try to get even closer to 0...I'd really love to get to about +/- 2s/d I think.

    Thanks!

I sewed the strap-keeper in place so it's always in the right place and won't slide off:

I've tweaked my keychain quite a bit recently!

I switched to all McGizmo Micro clips (decided I prefer them over the TEC Python clips), I added a Nitecore TubeVN (modified by Vinh from CPF), removed the car keys, and added some super tiny and amazing nail clippers. Everything spreads nice and flat even in my tightest jeans (not skinny jeans, just much tighter than most of my pants).

How many people have to charge their keys? I love it!

    The flatness:

I have the same nail clippers (and love them) and may copy your split ring idea.

Also, have you considered cutting down your other keys?

Of the three keys, only one is mine. The others are my office key (which says "do not duplicate") and PO Box key (which also says "do not duplicate") so I can't be cutting them down unfortunately.

My very different EDC from my last posts!
No more light on the keys. New watch; Seiko SKX007 which has been bead-blasted and has new hands and a Yobokies DLC bezel insert and it's all sitting on a bead-blasted Super Engineer II bracelet. My trusty Buck Marksman 830. My DIY pocket organizer with my Mini-01vn, SAK Alox Cadet, and MCfabrication Bolt pen. Got a new very thin nylon wallet from my wife for Christmas, currently carrying a bottle opener card in it. And just for grins I'm carrying my DIY cut-down Bi-Knuck.

    Also, my now-even-cuter daughter:
