Back yard deer
LOL! For reals? I think that is how the kids say it. Is that photoshopped?
Not photoshopped. Real image.
Texas suburban bird life. (scared the heck out of all the neighborhood cats)
Found this little fella living in a old irrigation controller today. It is a marbled gecko and his tail is growing back (probably after a close call with a bird). Please excuse the dirty nails but I was on the job!
I know I'm getting a bit of a reputation for these shots but i saw this beauty today and had to share. This is a blue flower wasp colia soror and it is looking for an underground grub in which to lay its eggs. Looks aggressive and poisonous but are actually passive and rarely sting.
Red Kite over local escarpment ...
Red Kite over the Carmarthen Fans, Brecon Beacons, Carmarthen
My EDC thread here :- http://edcforums.com/threads/garethmk1s-edc-thread.117175/
Here's a few more of Red Kites, many of these have been published.
Hope you like them, I think I said at the start of my EDC thread that i was a nature photographer. I specialised in Red Kites, local endangered (or where) species ... Love these birds. Was lucky enough to have had a schedule 1 licence previously.
This was taken a while ago, gives you an idea of my setup ... My old Maxped Jumbo is in there as well !
Superb, can see why you're published!
One last image ... scariest behind the camera ... taken whilst on holidays in Sweden !!!
One thing I've noticed is that since swapping my outdoors gear to multicam, I'm convinced it's made a big difference in so far of how animals birds don't notice me as much, convinced it's made a big difference, I can only think that it may have something to do with the IR coating ? I've read a lot about how animals respond to different camouflage, and most patterns seem useless against animals ... But it definitely has made a difference ... Weird !?!
Last few Kite pics ...
Hope you enjoy these too !
Just great @garethmk1
I have my own theories on camouflage and don't tend to obsess over patterns. Everything I wear outdoors gets washed in a detergent that doesn't have IR brighteners, and I look for fabrics and patterns that are not IR brightened or reflective.
I agree, I remember reading an article on hunting sight about how animals view camouflage, especially where one considers black and white vision ... wish I could find it. I swear that multicam works mind ! I also wash my clothing in non IR brightening detergents.
Wow, just wow.
At a glance I thought that first image was digitally manipulated! Thanks for stating you are a professional & showing us your rig as most of us are just guys with phone cameras!
Your a bit like @Stormdrane on the paracord thread.....
Thanks for posting and keep 'em coming.
Could not have said it better. Fantastic pics.
...the only thing that matches between us is the MP Jumbo ...
"Envy" is not on my personal vocabulary, but be sure that i'll be following your posts as the "guy" in the pic i left in this reply !!!
You don't need my compliments, but let me say really wonderful pics.
My not too great contributions from my walk today.
