I finally broke down and ordered a Vanquest Envoy 13. I don’t use a messenger bag often, but this looks like it will work for my needs.

Olight (UK) have come through! They are sending me a replacement battery for my S1r Baton II. Still under warranty, and the cell is knackered.
I'm glad that the customer service was (so far) better than I'd heard some others experience.

The battery on my S1R Mk1 is still going strong :) I guess you must've had a dud?

ha ha, just received a set of EOD breacher bars from Drop.
I knew they were on the large side, but thought maybe the small one was in EDC territory, and the large more for around the home.
Nope. Ain't takin the small one anywhere either :)
I won't say I regret the purchase though. They seem very solid and the price was very reasonable. It's just not something I'll carry around.

Maybe add one to the toolkit you keep in the car?

I could see it being useful; I keep a 6" prybar in my car tool bag.

I considered that, but that toolkit is already pretty extensive, so it doesn't add a lot of value.
I have a mobile car kit that I move around to whatever car or vehicle I take when I go on planned trips (not regular commuting). This is a kit that I usually throw in my backup bag, which again is a bag I fill with the things I don't expect to need, but if I ever do - getting it from my car would be infinitely easier than locating a source on the fly or aborting the trip altogether. A kind of forward storage if you will.
Anyhow, I think I'll try to include the "small" prybar in this tool kit, to maximize the chance of it being around if I ever need it.
