I got a new Goruck Tac Hat ...
Utica Big Pine Stockman
I got a Maxpedition Fatboy Versipack ...
Technically it hasn't been produced yet so teeeechnically its not in the mail, but I have an Alpha One Niner Evade 1.5 in black 420D coming.. can't help myself, now I'm looking at pouches and organization options for inside, the waist belt... Upgrading from a pretty nice Swissgear pack that I've liked just fine but from what i can tell the quality, features, and capabilities of the Evade will be something else entirely.
Olight i3T showed up today. Kind of an impulse buy. I was just looking for another simAAA flashlight with decent output. At a claimed 180 lumens, it’s a decent EDC light.
Goodies from Countycomm & Windup Watch Shop.

Utica Girls Scout Featherweight. It needs some cleaning and sharpening, but for being around 50yrs old, it is pretty good shape.
Not exactly new (had it for a couple years), but really did get it in the mail yesterday. Amourlite AL304 quartz with green trit hour markers/hands and orange trit at the 12 position.
(BTW: I'm no longer apologizing for my crappy pics. I now regard it as a kind of folk art.)
Bought it as a backup to my other Amourlite watch. When that one finally failed (actually, it was the bracelet that failed), I took this one out of the box for the first time, removed all the plastic, sized the bracelet, and then noticed... "Hey, this watch is dead." Took it to a jeweler for a new battery. Worked spiffily for 9 hours then quit. Called Armourlite CS and they said "Yeah, happens all the time with jewelers and batteries. Don't know what they're doing wrong, but send it to us and we'll change the battery." It's been cranking away since getting it back yesterday, so I'm hoping it's okay now.
Oh, and I guess they really do pressure test them:
property taxes. T Rowe Price came to the rescue
I had a similar issue when I changed a watch battery. I bought the equivalent Energizer battery to the original Renata. It seems that the Energizer is ever so slightly smaller than the Renata battery and failed to make good contact. I am making an educated guess on this, as i did try multiple Energizers, but once I installed a Renata battery all was good. My guess is that your watch guy uses Energizer or other easily availble battery that don't fit just right.
@Blackheart and @karlito: I'm wondering. Were the Energizer batteries small in thickness or diameter? If thickness, I sorta wonder if a very small piece (meaning l x w) in one or more thicknesses, of aluminum foil might have solved the problem. I've done that 'hack' with some low end flashlights as well as (for example) the doorbell chimes when they wouldn't 'chime'....

I didn't have easy access to a fresh battery (one that hadn't been hanging on a retailer's pegboard hook for a year or two), or the tool* for removing the watch back (and I didn't want to scarf up the back by using the needle-nose pliers hack), so I took it to a jeweler that I know does a brisk business. So... I never saw what replacement battery they installed or compared it to the original, but what you guys are saying about the replacement being just slightly smaller in one dimensional or another is really quite possible.
* - I might just have to pick up a couple of the Harbor Freight "El Cheapo" tools. One for the watch back, the other for removing the bracelet pins. I do this so rarely it's hard to justify.
<edit> - Oh, and it's been almost a week since getting the watch back, and it's still ticking away and keeping perfect time, so the factory must know something about batteries.
@Blackheart Don't use one of those cheap wrenches (small rectangle with an adjustment wheel that moves the claws). I managed to give my caseback a nice scar with it. Try using a caseback removing ball or a cheaper rolled up ball of duct tape (sticky side out) to twist off the caseback.
We'll have to make you an honorary "Bubba" for the duct tape usage/trick....
Someone should start a "duct tape" thread....
Today I got a small leater pouch for my MKM Fara and the Böker Plus K.I.D. cal .50 pen ...
A low cost titanium pen from China and it´s great.
Lever Gear Toolcard pro.
A slightly more utilitarian money clip
Cold Steel AD10. Beast of a knife, good steel, nice f&f but I don't know if it is a keeper.
