Well, seeing as elsewhere on here I asked where folks are shopping for 'traditional' knives, I had to start looking at their suggestions. Blade HQ was recommended; they do have a pretty solid selection! And quite a few on seasonal sale...

    > Boker Plus Barlow, 2.5", jigged bone
    > Cold Steel Hold Out II (4"), PE, black blade, Coyote Tan G-10. The only way this can be considered a 'traditional' is that Cold Steel claim they derived design from a Scots dirk. Yeah, well... I just thought it looked like a cool knife.
    > LM Juice B2; both a PE and a SE. Just 420 steel; but I've always liked the idea of a pocket knife with both types of blades!

    I gotta stay off-line now... ;-(

A Kershaw PT-2 multitool was delivered in today's mail (Sunday morning) by the USPS. I thought they were sending it by pack mule since it'd taken more than two weeks to get from Virginia to Georgia...

And a size comparison photo added with my Gerber Shard and Leatherman Brewzer...

Waiting on some goodies from FourSevens. I loved their lights. I was sad to hear of their closing. Without knowing anything about who is taking over, I thought I better take advantage of the sale and get some last minute accessories like batteries and whatnot.

I see the make a smaller Tread LT (I guess stands for light) that is .71 inches vs. the standard 1.2 inches. Which one did you get?

I got the standard model of Tread, in black :)

It's fairly weighty, but that shouldn't be too much of a surprise, as it's tool steel :) It's adjustable to smaller wrist sizes, by dint of removing links as required; I have to figure out which link I'm likely to need the least. THAT'S going to be a pain :frantic::rofl:

I actually didn't know they were closing -- and just bought a light on clearance! FYI. On the site, David Chow, the founder has a good bye letter; in it he indicates a 'reboot' is forthcoming under someone new; Mr. Chow evidently will stick around for a transition period. As it is said, looks like they will be '...living in interesting times..." !

A little bit ago, David had a youtube video announcing a stainless steel version of some lights. At the end of the video, he talks about moving on and the inventory was going to be discounted. He did mentioned that someone else was taking over. I equated that to them closing. At least in their current iteration. While I do hope that the reboot is successful and more innovated lights are a result, I didn't want to risk missing out on not being able to maintain and keep my favorite lights burning bright.

Yup. I saw the video earlier today. I'm wondering if he dropped a clue as to who was buying him out. Towards the end, he mentioned 'passing the baton'. Could be just a figure of speech of course. But when talking to an audience of flashlight geeks, (I don't really consider myself one quite yet!), immediate thought came to mind of course -- OLIGHT!?!?

    Guess we'll know soon enough.

A key-sized one-piece multitool arrived in today's mail with a bunch of fauxton LED lights that will go on keyring/keychain lanyard stocking stuffers. Only thing I've tested the tool on so far was trying to pull a piece of gutted paracord, that I had on the desk in front of me, through the cord cutter section of the tool. It didn't cut it, at all, lol.

I don't know if I can use a pointed diamond rod sharpener to put an edge on it or not. The screwdriver and pry bits look serviceable, with the bottle opener being a 'maybe', probably gonna take multiple attempts to get a bottle cap off, simply because of the small size of the tool...

A credit card sized beard comb/multitool for the wallet. Beard comb and bottle opener functions tested, worked fine. ;)

Bought some cheap sharpening stones one Amazon. Now I´m working on the perfect mirror finish :)
My Terävä Jääkäripuukko (what a name  ) was never this sharp.
