Well I've got a fade where my phone was and my keys in my left pocket, then a Fenix e01, Fisher Space Pen, a traditional knife and a tactical knife in my right pocket (this is assuming I wasn't carrying my ESEE Izula and SAK Pioneer in their combined pocket sheath that day- I don't remember). Seem right?

Is part of the raw look wearing the jeans too long, or is that buying to account for mass shrinkage?

They look like Beaver Clever's jeans.

You know you're an EDC'er (or a Skoal Dipper) when you can see your gear outlines!

In my 501s I had a challenge coin fade in my fifth pocket too, and all of my jeans have various degrees of wallet fades on the back left pocket with the raws being considerably more pronounced.

It's part of the charm of raw denim. You start out with a blank slate, a boring pair of plain dark blue jeans, and you write your story in the warp and weft wrapped around your legs. Every fray, every little bit of indigo loss, is there because you put it there. It tells the story of what you did wearing those jeans. It's like wabi sabi in patinaed brass or leather or well worn gear, but for jeans.

Lol, well to be honest I haven't met many who don't wear their raw jeans for a long time, so I would say yes! With pre-washed jeans, you do get substantially more comfort, but raw denim looks much better once it fades, and it also has that cool feeling that comes with the way things used to be, and knowing your product is very high quality. I wouldn't say I would be one of those "never wash your jeans" people though, I can go maybe a few months but frankly a good wash now and then makes them look much better and get more comfortable too!

But to answer your question: yes. I would say that raw denim is best worn for a long time without washing. Not so much for the shrinkage, but for the fades. :

ALSO: They do look like Beaver's jeans. That makes me happy. I love that show. (Yeah I'm one of those weird kids who actually likes old TV shows)

I prefer 1959s-mid60s sitcoms to anything else ever on television. Cool.

I have a Carhartt Denim jacket that I love, it's "raw" blue. It's cut in a taper on the trunk which I like the look of.

Something I saw today. Almost broke me down to tears. Why would you ever get rid of the beautiful fades you have worn in over time??[IMG]

Connery was the best Bond hands down. Just sayin'.

Also, the dye kit is depressing. It's like watching unicorns cry or something.

I've been wearing my Luckies for work for the past week, which means I've been wearing them while walking around 3 to 5 miles a day in the heat. The fades ought to come out good.

I've been kicking around the idea of picking up a pair of Prison Blues double dungarees and/or a jacket. What are your impressions on their quality and fit?
