The Quantum DD has the QTC in the tail end along with a magnet to secure the battery. The D2 and Ti Quantums have the QTC pill at the head end and the battery is free to move in and out of the tail. The DD needs a simple palm clap technique to pop the battery out of the tail. The DD runs WOT without the QTC pill. Incidentally does anyone know the best way to make a D2 or Ti run full bore if no QTC pill is in situ?
Steve sent me an email: ''Hi, Yes, battery rattle is normal for the D2. The magnet hole in the tail is a legacy feature for backwards compability with the DD.'' So I guess you could add a magnet to the D2 like the DD if you wanted to remove the rattle as it has the machined slot still. Thanks folks.
If I unscrew the D2 and Ti versions beyond the off position it is possible to get battery rattle. The battery shuttles back and forth. If just in the off position then no rattle. I'm enjoying my D2 so far, the only thing I don't like about it is how hard it is to activate. Even after cleaning and lubricating the threads, it's still tough to twist, even with 2 hands. Not a big deal since I don't use it frequently, but it's a little disappointing in an otherwise awesome light.
I also make sure there's a little bit of PTFE grease not only on the threads but also on the flat where the O-ring seal runs. It makes a noticeable difference to drag on mine.
Got mine, I think it's just the right level of friction on the twisting. I don't want it to come undone or turn on accidentally, plus if I select a variable level it will stay there. It is indeed very bright, solid build, and the black coating is nice, not cheap looking. I still kinda want a silver-colored stainless so maybe I'll get a DD too... Sent from Winterfell using a Raven

Hey guys im new to the forum and Just got a DD from ebay. It had the 2 green trits installed already and it also has a "moon glow lens" I have been looking everywhere and cant seem to find what this is nor where it came from. does anyone have any info? thanks in advance!
I think the casual reports about funny lenses often just mean that people didn't expect the lens to be the milky/cloudy white that it is but expected a clear one instead. I could be wrong of course.
