We have seen the Quantum DD thread about version 1.
There is now a version 2, the Quantum D2, and the changes look pretty good :).

Go Steve! I don't need the extra bells and whistles, but I appreciate Steve having other options!

And I thought the "stuck battery" was by design. :D

I would also say, while bigger, better, faster is very nice, some people just want something that looks cool. I would be super excited to see a DD shell with a Nano's guts for a fraction of the price.

Great to see, that Steve is always trying to improve his designs. I wouldn't mind the upgraded guts in my DD, but I like the bare steel finish. The coating would be hard to stonewash :D

Looks a little longer. Hopefully it is one hand operational.

Not interested personally, but neat product.

I honestly think its the same length, it uses the same battery. The additional price is likely mostly due to...

    *coating
    *xpg2
    *charger upgrade

IMHO it's prob negligible depends on how you like the new coating. I'm curious how the charger is different too.

Is that Illumination supply website a good/reliable place to order that light from? I'm getting closer and closer to doing anything to get one.

I think most of the members here got it from there.

There are only two websites selling the Quantum DD (only one for the D2), but edcknives.com is out of stock, so illuminationsupply is the only option. International shipping can take a while, but other than that there are no known problems with them.

A D2? I'd like to see it in better pics. I do like the finish, but its just not a big enough difference for me to order it on top of the DD I have:)

No, the DD. I like the interface, but can't justify the added cost for the new one when the old one seems plenty bright for its size already!

Nice and small but too short on the runtime for me. Love my Olight S10 Baton. Sorry SAK and KAMM, but glad you're happy with it.
