I don't like jeans that much. Do carpenter pants come in the khaki material? I don't use the side pockets of my cargo pants for anything anymore since I quit smoking/dipping, anyway. All the stuff I carry fits in my upper four pockets.

I don't own any in blue jean variety. I wear Dickies almost exclusively for work use since they hold up well and are reasonably cheap. Heavy duty duck material, similar to carhartt stuff. Really need to wash/wear for a few weeks to be broken in. I have tan, OD, and brown, but I think there are other options.

Does anyone else find it odd that Stonerman and THC like the same pants?

Like Stonerman said, Carhartt and Dickies sell that style pant (or shorts) in a variety of colors/materials. Come back from the darkside M&M, we have cookies too.

No, but I feel like either a valid prescription or some jailtime should be involved. Possibly some hotpockets.

As I've explained before, the "T.H." comes from being blond and the "Cone" means my melon. But it was an odd coincidence, given people's perception of my username, no?

I never had that perception of your username. Although I'm not sure of the relationship between "T.H." and "Blonde". :p

I've been blonde all my life and never heard "Tow head" in reference to hair color. Must be before my time :p

A lot of Dutchies where I live, myself included, so it is pretty common around here. It is a real word though, it's even in the dictionary.

I knew it was a word. I've heard it used for the little river sandbars before. Never heard it used to describe a blonde, though. :p

Since you're referring to dutch; is it possible it originally was "touw-head" & the people just changed it to 'tow' because it made more sense in English?

Touw is the dutch word for rope. We also say 'vlas-blond' here, which means 'flax-blonde'.

Funny show btw, I'm gonna watch some more of that [IMG]

My son is 26 and very blonde. We are also Dutch. When he was young he was very very blonde. People always called him Tow Head. Now his son is also very blonde, and people also call him tow head. Must be the Dutch thing.

People always ask us if we are Irish, because my daughter and I have red hair and my son is blonde with a red beard

I used to carry a small zipper pouch that held most my EDC stuff, in my cargo pockets. Then I got a Skinth and never looked back.

I spent a lot of time in cargo pants when I was in the army, so I had a lot of time to experience the folly of poor cargo pocket arrangements.

I found that carrying heavy or hard stuff in the cargo pockets was a really terrible idea. This just results in violent swinging of the pockets and bruised kneecaps. I feel that the best use for the cargo pockets is to carry lightweight articles of clothing; a scarf, a watch cap, glove liners, etc. They won't swing as much and the won't bash your knees.

This sounds very plausible. A lot of weird english phrases came into being this way.

When I'm in my ACUs on drill weekends, the only things that go in my cargo pockets are my patrol cap in one side and my green leader's book in the other.

Wore jeans the other day and felt naked without the cargo pockets. I know they make some jeans with cargo pockets, but don't know where to buy them. And carpenter jeans simply won't do it. Can't fit a pack of cigarettes in there.

I love cargopants to bits and pieces .I find jeans restrictive for my 26-28 inch thighs unless I shell out $$ for tailor made ones.Gotta love the 5.11 taclite pros.
