I would like to talk you about a very special gun that was designed and made in Spain. The Pressin, a gun for EDC

    CHARACTERISTICS OF THE WEAPON.

FACTORY: Llama, Gabilondo y Cia. (Spain)
    CALIBER: 7,65x 15 mm.
    ORIGIN: Vitoria. (Spain)
    DATE OF MANUFACTURE: 1978 - 1995.
    LONG. TOTAL: 120 mm.
    LONG. TUBE: 80 mm.
    WEIGHT: 280 gr.
This gun was designed in 1977 for the spaniard ingenier and general Juan Bautista Uriarte River. as a weapon of last resort in case of kidnapping. The gun has the appearance of a office stapler, camouflaged in a glasses case, and works really like a office stapler.

The Pressin 7.65 caliber gun Pressin used, also called Special 7.65. This is essentially a 7,65x17 caliber (.32 ACP), whose sheath has been cut 2mm and the powder charge halved to reduce its effective range.

There is a luxury version and one of this was pressented to the pressident Ronald Reagan or the King Hussein of Jordania

There was a rumor that some Pressin were assigned to spaniard secret agents and other allies countries. In fiction, is one of the weapons used by Antonio Alba, star of spy novels "Cazar al Capricornio" (Hunting the Capricorn) and "La otra cara de Jano" (The other face of Janus).

Very, very cool, Irco. For 'social distances' I'm sure it would be accurate enough, too! I can see it in an old style Western movie: Hold on now, Pardner, whilest I draw my stapler.. um, I mean my gun!

    +1

But first I need to know . . . the harder you slam down on the top of it, the more things the "staple" (bullet) will go through?

There seems to be a continuing historic theme between Spain, guns, and staplers.....

From the El Casco home page.....

El Casco is known as the manufacturer of the most distinguished desktop accessories available, unequalled in design and quality. The company was originally founded in 1920 to produce revolvers of the highest precision, which enjoyed a reputation for reliabilty and were exported throughout the World.

However, during the Great Depression the owners were driven to diversify into additional products, and in 1934 they began the production of the distinctive stapler M-5 which is shown alongside.

Today, El Casco provides the finest range of desk accessories in the world, while maintaining the Hallmark of their origin by training their own apprentices, and teaching the traditional manufacturing skills. These processes are both painstaking and manual, -all precison components are individually numbered and assembled by hand. The flawless mirror finish is achieved by repeated polishing of the steel base in preparation for the final chrome or gold plating.

Analyzing the picture, it looks to have a slide lock that engages after it is loaded. There is a button on the trigger which is either a safety or a barrel selector. If it is a safety than both barrels probably fire together. The trigger hinge at the front will affect the aiming so I put the effective range in the single digit of feet. That said, it would be cool to have one up ones sleeve.
