I don't think I will ever buy tins locally. Stuff that is less then $10 on the internet is over $20 in the local stores. Except at one store on the Native Reservation. But they only have 2 different Petersons flake tins.
Twelve bucks for the tin here. The internet stores are usually cheaper but then I gotta pay for shipping. Unless I'm loading up, it's usually cheaper to buy it local and support the B&M. The locals don't have the variety that the webbies do but I get what I can.

When I get home, I'll post a list of what I plan on putting in. Not as much as whiskey, but still some good ones.
I am trying to reduce my inventory. If my wife sees fewer jars then I get less crap about buying more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Off the top of my head, I can throw in: Dunhill - DeLuxe Navy Rolls Dunhill - Early Morning Pipe Rattray's Hal O' the Wynd Orlik - Golden Sliced 4 Noggins' Bald Headed Teacher Tinderbox - Philosopher Tinderbox - Captain Spice Tinderbox - New River GLP - Epiphany Peter Stokkebye - Luxury Navy Flake Peter Stokkebye - English Oriental Peter Stokkebye - Virginia #1 Other odds and ends too that don't immediately come to mind.
Pretty impressive list there! I've tried one of them, Dunhill's Nightcap. Nice but not really my thing. I've yet to develop a taste for English blends but now and then they're just the thing.
I started off with NC being my first english, i loved it. If you ever wanna try it again, try Frog Morton, Or frog Morton Cellar, both good and mild.
Frog Morton was my first English blend and it's excellent. I am curious about Frog in the Cellar. I haven't had a chance to try that one yet.
FM Cellar is a great blend. Keeping to the Frog theme, I'll have some FM in my one of a kind Stanwell Featherweight. It's a great fishing, hiking, hunting pipe now, but it started as a reject. It was a black smooth pipe and the finish flaked. I sanded it down, but the briar was buttugly. I decided to take the dremel to it and give it a "bark" like rustication. It gets more character with each smoke now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cellar is even milder, and sweeter. If you wnt to try a light Balkan, give bayou a try, it's my favorite of the Frog Morton line.
They're both on my short list. I actually bought a tin of Frog in the Cellar as a gift for a friend of mine but I didn't get a chance to sample it. I need to put in a big order of Old Joe Krantz soon so I'll add Frog in the Cellar to the order probably. As for Balkan blends, I want to try Balkan Sobranie first since it was the "go to" Balkan blend of time's past. whiskey Nice job on that Stanwell. I'd have guessed it came from the factory with that finish.
I'm adding a bag of Balkan Sobranie marked for you only. Hope you enjoy it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
