lol! I was just in the local tobacco shop and they have a rusticated Jobey lovat that I have to have. I don't know how old rhe briar is but it is unbelievably light. I may sell one of my Petersons to pay for it though.

Anyone else use a "pipe tray?" I have been using this wooden bread tray, but looking for an upgrade to something my wife hates less. :)

No, but I am getting back into leather working for a belt holster project and my first mini project to warm me back up is to make one of these ..

I've been meaning to try that Balkan Sobranie. I think that tray is pretty rustic and cool tbh.

This is where my pipe paraphernalia. I use the wood dish to prepare my twists, flakes, plugs, etc.

This is a strange blend for me. I really like Balkans, so I was surprised that this one didn't strike very high on my meter when I first tried it. I jarred it up two tins back when it came out in 2014. I decided to try it again tonight. Well, maybe it's the hot tea with a heavy orange taste I am drinking, but again this is leaving me a little flat. I think it's just a little light on the Latakia for me for an evening smoke. I'll try it again earlier in the day.

Received a kind offering from a fellow pipe smokers in the mail today. A generous amount of Penzance, Pembroke, and Smokers Haven 20th anniversary blend.

Smoking the 20th Anniversary in a Stanwell. This is a superb blend.

I'm looking to try some new tobacco of various types and need some help. I usually buy the stuff out of jars at the local shops. Never really tried anything else...can some make me some recommendations? If someone has an abundance of some stuff they think I should try I take handouts as well hehe

Happy to send you some samples. PM me your address. I'll send some of each "class" of tobacco to give you a complete flavor profile so you can start by staying within those "classes" you like.

Fair warning, don't load up a full bowl with an English blend, it tends to ghost the bowl quite heavily, and can take a while to smoke through it. Cheers to you whiskey, good man for doing that!

    Thank you.

Only stipulation is to send on any unsmoked stuff to another pipe smoker. :)

Good point about the ghosting! I'd suggest a cob for sampling, and sample the English mixtures last.

So, this is gonna be a helluva box of tobacco. I suggest we have an informal box pass. Anyone interested PM me your address and I will include it in the box. Once madlag has his fill, he ships to the next address on the list. Smoke all you like, add some if you wish, don't if you are low or broke. No need to rush, but I'd suggest shipping within 2 weeks of receipt. No hard rules here. This is for fellowship and sharing of our hobby.

I got a tin of FM Cellar recently. But then traded it away for a Kaywoodie oval supergrain on The Gentleman's Pipe Smoking Society. There were other items involved but I was looking forward to trying the Cellar. I've had Across the Pond and it's as good as it's reputation. Guess I need to walk down to Sturman's again (twist my arm!) :)
