That's a Field S lighter I bought from BladeHq in solid brass. They make a few different ones but they're all high quality. Japanese and rock solid. It uses lighter fluid and doesn't dry up for year or so when not in use. I go months without filling. There's a thread around here somewhere on it.

Thanks. Just watched a video and that's a great design. I think I'll have to pick one up.

More money you're gonna force me to spend...

It does look like a nice lighter.

Lol well at least we have good (and matching) tastes. It really is a good lighter and I highly recommend picking one up.

Wish I could but it's a big over budget at present.

I also have a Douglass lighter. Great lighter, but not the best for pipes IMO. It does great for cigarillos though! I've had mine for about two years, and still going strong on the first fill of lighter fluid. It's also not the most wind resistant like a Zippo, but still gets the job done.

So, last night pops and I loaded up some cobs with Carter Hall, started the truck, opened the windows, and had a nice smoke. It's finally starting to get cold here in Michigan. He liked it a lot! He likes the fact that it doesn't take as long as a cigar, and can be just as good. I can't wait till he tries the other tobaccos I got for him.

Kinda weird, as I'm not a big fan of infused/flavored cigars, but La Perla Habana Black & Tan. They were just so bloody good! Had one every single day during summer. I love those little things.

Rather embarressed of this but had a pipe the other night, went over to the cabinet to get another for my pouch just to discover that every single one there needed cleaning. Um woops! I usually leave them a day or so between smoke and clean but I must have been rotating and forgetting constantly...

I too have been forgetting. It doesn't harm the pipe all that much, just got to be a little more thorough and careful when cleaning.

I use medical alcohol actually when I clean, I dip the pipe cleaner into the liquid then clean (not the bowl of course). I find it gives a very clean smoke. I used to use Bells whisky when I was flying a lot and paying $15 a litre for the stuff, now that gave a smoke beyond belief! :)

I don't use anything other than bristled pipe cleaners. I like to keep the flavors in the bowl, as each pipe is intended for only certain types of tobacco, or a single tobacco.

I'm far from that particular, I don't smoke aromatics and anything else fits into a pretty small category as I have a specific taste I like. To be frank I have 3 tobacco's in the cabinet right now and two of them are Scottish Mixtures.

Those would go in my Neerup Cherrywood, designated as my Light English Pipe. I smoke varying strengths of English blends, so I have 3 different pipes for them Neerup Cherrywood, Dagner Poker, and Savinelli Poker, then there is the Christmas Peterson, which smokes Virginias, then I have a Peterson Barrel for Kentucky blends, then some cobs do aromatics(C&D Gentleman Caller), my Cobbit only smokes MBs Acadian Perique, and I have another dedicated to Virginia/Perique blends. It's a little crazy, but it's just the way I like to do it.

Just did a quick mental count. Um, I only have 4 pipes that I use. :D I divide them up based on use rather than tobacco. Two are EDC, two are reading pipes.

Like anyone on this forum could turn their nose up at a collection of EDC type items. :D We're proud of having ridiculous amounts rather than ashamed.
