This is a season of mixed emotion. We are helping my MIL move right now, we know it is going to be hard on us leaving here because it is where her husband passed away and he loved it here so much. There have already been several emotional moments.
1 after New Year's breakfast I wanted to walk, no 15 F wind chill 2 took down all decorations, boxed up and put away in 1 : 45 3 finally walked 2 .5 miles with a 170' incline, local hill. Good Year now.
1. On our way home after helping my MIL get all packed up. 2. Will have a couple of days at home before going back to work on Tuesday. 3. Shortened work schedule with longer days in the new year. It has been a bit of a bittersweet start to the new year as we close this chapter of our lives and move her back closer to us.
1--I submitted the Soc Sec app, so it must be 3 months before turning 62. 2-- good afternoon walk up hills to think about that. 3--Keeping my Glucose down after testing for 7 weeks.
My three [with read-between-the-lines translation] 1. My boy is off on his bike to a group of fiends house other side of our village for a hang out. [we feel safe enough living here and confident in his maturity for him to do that - he has a great little group of boy and girl, friends - he likes getting out on his bike] 2. I hear my wife and daughter happily chatting while making goodies in the kitchen. [happy girls in the house - Baked goodies] 3. It's a lovely hot (not too humid thankfully ) weekend [ I have ice for my drink - a shady tree and Its hammock time] Have a good weekend lovely EDCF folk. . Take care SK Sent from my iThing
Is 62 when, you retire? And the govt gives you a decent living wage and takes care of you as you need after being a hard working tax paying citizen all your life. I believe that's how it works in theory I need to do number 2 but it's too bloody hot and you know ... Hammock! Sent from my iThing
Ugh... you below the equator folks are making me jealous. Hammock indeed! Bah Humbug! 1. I've been sick, but it wasn't enough to keep me out of action and I seem to be on the upswing. 2. I've got a warm roof over my head... a good thing since we're getting hit with snow tonight. 3. At least I live near the coast and am only supposed to get 4-8 inches of snow... as opposed to the over 18 in. plus in other parts of the state and over two feet of snow in other parts of the country.
There things today. 1. My ankle is healing and I survived the first day back on site with it. 2. I just found out today that we have a two year job to go to at the end of this one in September. (In today's market here that is great news). 3. Roof over my head and my beautiful family.
The snow is piling up, and I'm drinking espresso . Snow makes me happy. The power isn't, and shouldn't (knock on wood), go out. (first year to have this, woohoo!) This forum continues to be my only social network. Thanks guys.
Good news indeed, my friend! Happy to hear about the job. Been worried about how the dropping oil market would effect you.
This is one of many downturns I have been through in the industry, albeit the worst, and somehow I have been able to maintain through it all. I am pretty happy to see the slight climb in prices today. I actually took a big chance dropping everything to come here, but it has worked out well so far. Just have to keep my nose to the grindstone and work my way through it. Knowing there is more opportunity on the horizon has taken a huge load off my mind for sure.
After that April 2016 Win 7 mess up of downloads that stopped a lot of PC from Updating again, I got my T-61/Win 7 working again. 60 updates later and running great. 4 Soc Sec deposits later, I almost feel good that I can stay within budget. Somehow added weight I need to get off.
