The Trim brand was a line produced by a company called W.E. Bassett. The little knife was called the "Trim Trio." I believe they stopped making it some time ago.

W.E. Bassett closed their doors in 2012.

When they closed their doors, the sold the rights to the Trim product line to a company called Pacific World. They mostly sell nail clippers and tweezers these days.

The Trim Trio can still be found on eBay with prices ranging anywhere from $3 and up. In some cases they are sold in "lots." I saw a lot of 3 going for $7 and I have seen a single one posted for $38 :)giggle: the wild and wooly world of online auctions).

Someone also sold a lot of 103 of these.... which I guess would be great for the person looking for last might Christmas gifts.

Thanks for the history of the Trim brand. That explains why the Trim products have been downgraded in quality.

I honestly don't remember which airline it was, but there was a small window of civilized behavior where if you had a memory lapse about having a knife in your pocket, you didn't automatically lose your knife. You could go to the ticket agent, they would give you a cardboard box. You would put your knife in it, the box would be checked in and travel on the plane and you could retrieve your knife at your destination as if it were very small luggage. It wasn't mailed.... it traveled on the same plane as you.

The only uncomfortable moment was when one of the bored ticket agents opened one of the knives and I had to verbally walk her through closing a liner lock.

This was sometime after gas street lamps and before the TSA. Then we entered a barbaric red tape filled epoch.

I'd love to know somebody working at an airport security desk.
If I could dive thru one of those boxes just once.
Of course most of them bladed craps aren't worth $1, maybe I could find a gem ;)

The items are auctioned off in lots. Many of the items are resold on eBay.
