The Trim brand was a line produced by a company called W.E. Bassett. The little knife was called the "Trim Trio." I believe they stopped making it some time ago. W.E. Bassett closed their doors in 2012. News Story: REACTION: Hundreds To Lose Jobs When W.E. Bassett Closes When they closed their doors, the sold the rights to the Trim product line to a company called Pacific World. They mostly sell nail clippers and tweezers these days. The Trim Trio can still be found on eBay with prices ranging anywhere from $3 and up. In some cases they are sold in "lots." I saw a lot of 3 going for $7 and I have seen a single one posted for $38 giggle: the wild and wooly world of online auctions). Someone also sold a lot of 103 of these.... which I guess would be great for the person looking for last might Christmas gifts. ATB, Sam
Im not sure what ATB means, but thanks for the in depth answer! Now I know it's called a Trio which can help if I decide to keep searching.
Went to a knife show a few weeks ago and saw some nice little knives... Bummed I missed out on getting one of these (above). Kershaw ?Cinder Middle knife shown below for scale Middle knife (above) Not the best pic of this one but I went back three times to fondle it and ended up buying one. Thats not a knife *whips out bowie knife* Neither is this... ($1 Au coin for scale) Little friction folder *edited with different image host in the hopes that it will work, forgotten pic added. **3rd times a charm hopefully...
Thanks for the history of the Trim brand. That explains why the Trim products have been downgraded in quality.
I dont mean Like, like, just acknowledging frustration at loosing a small personal item that probably couldn't really hurt someone.... we could kil so.eone with a pencil! Join Knife Rights!
I honestly don't remember which airline it was, but there was a small window of civilized behavior where if you had a memory lapse about having a knife in your pocket, you didn't automatically lose your knife. You could go to the ticket agent, they would give you a cardboard box. You would put your knife in it, the box would be checked in and travel on the plane and you could retrieve your knife at your destination as if it were very small luggage. It wasn't mailed.... it traveled on the same plane as you. The only uncomfortable moment was when one of the bored ticket agents opened one of the knives and I had to verbally walk her through closing a liner lock. This was sometime after gas street lamps and before the TSA. Then we entered a barbaric red tape filled epoch. ATB, Sam
I'd love to know somebody working at an airport security desk. If I could dive thru one of those boxes just once. Of course most of them bladed craps aren't worth $1, maybe I could find a gem
