Me too! Do you scratch your head when some call damage "character marks"? In a different thread, a guy lamented that his new alox knife didn't have the "used look" yet. That kind of thinking boggles my mind.

Probably the same POV that highly prizes patina, in all its versions... different strokes, different strokes!

Amazon is currently bundling a Kydex belt loop (also made by Krudo) with mounting hardware at the sale price (described as a belt clip, but it's really a loop). Picture of the loop can be found on Pinterest:

You might wear out the Kydex sheath just from constantly drawing the knife out from a fidget reflex. Currently eschewing the ball chain for paracord and cord lock. Amazingly nice presentation case for a knife at this size and price point.
If this doesn't trip your impulse buy trigger, nothing will. :bounce::rolleyes_revamped:

I took the pix before using it...it has a couple “scrapes” now...not bad....I’m with you, don’t care for scratches...drives me crazy. I typically only purchase stonewashed or plain stainless, for that reason. I just had a weak moment with the little guy in my hand...

If I get scratches from actually using the knife I don't mind.
If I do get scratches from the knife falling onto concrete then I'm angry for a moment until I realize that it's just a tool.
...and that it gives me an excuse to buy another gem :p

It's funny though that I like a stonewashed look on a knife, either on etched/painted blade or anodized handle but I hate scratches on my car ;)
Recently I more like a fine satin blade as I learned that second grade blades are often used for stonewashing to hide imperfections in grinding.

I also could not buy pre-torn clothes, it even took me a while to like stonewashed denim.
That's maybe due how I was raised but even more from when I learned to make (orthopedic) footwear where it's unacceptable to have a scratch or just discoloration. Modern finish with (dark) wax brushed on (white/beige) shoes always makes me shiver when I have to do it even when I like the result...

That's a good thing to keep in mind about satin finish blades vs stone washing....

Sharp looking shoes by the way. Brings to mind the ZZTop classic about 'a sharp dressed man' !

even if that happens, I would assume it's only applicable to models available with both types of finish (or more)

Sure thing, and I didn't say I don't like stonewashing at all. The one I liked the most so far was on a Real Steel Griffin.
I'd say the blade was high polished before etching and tumbling which gave the blade an easy to clean surface (in spite of "rough etching") and a frosted look. I like it.

Thank you. Too bad that most of the times I have to make things like this
Ok ok, that's the more interesting ones but I try to keep photos for myself if I ever want to show it to someone.

Yeah, it is too bad. On the other hand what you are doing is a true blessing to those who need the shoes... I'm sure they are grateful to have enhanced mobility. In our way of speaking, I'd say that what you produce and the benefits they give represent a true 'mitzvah'.

    Huh?

Are you saying all of my chess sets are now forbidden as they are 'politically incorrect'? To say nothing of anyone who plays the Asian strategy game 'Go'... essentially a battle for territory between black and white!

    Where will this absurdity end?
