Hey, guys. I asked about this maybe a year+ ago, but never pursued it. Thinking about a tritium key fob. What reasonably priced ones are available these days? Best sources for them?

Or if tritium is too expensive (I seem to remember it being pretty expensive), what other options for glow in the dark key fobs?

    Thanks very much in advance,
    Chris

Check out TEC stuff in the forum store. None of the TEC stuff comes with tritium installed (there are legal issues) but the larger ones come with a gitd insert that works well. The smaller one is designed specifically for trits.

Okay, thanks. I didn't know Tritium was an issue. I'll look around for some other glow in the dark stuff.

From what I can understand tritium isn't against the law to own but to sell tritium in the united states is very regulated. I haven't bought any myself but I'm sure someone who has can walk you through it.

The TEC fobs from the store are in both GITD (pre-installed) and DIY tritium fobs. Tritium isn't terribly expensive considering how long it lasts. One vial plus international shipping is roughly as much as the TEC Isotope. And you can pick your colour.

So if i get what you are saying, you can remove the GITD vial from this: http://www.jsburlys.com/index.php?app=ecom&ns=prodshow&ref=tecaccessoriestecs3glow and replace it with a Tritium one (im in Aus and so hence no Tritium issues)

Well, yes and no. You can do so at some added expense via the DIY kit linked in the "Related items" area below the S3.

However, since TEC released the Isotope, buying a separate DIY kit is no longer necessary. The Isotope is machined specifically to accommodate a 3mm x 23mm tritium vial. I picked up mine from Merkava on CPF. Don't have any pictures yet or I'd link one for you.

I own one of each, but it's a bit late for pics right now. Will get some pics posted after tomorrow morning's coffee. Unless someone steps up in the meantime.

EDIT: Off the top of my head, the S3 is larger than the Isotope, unfortunately.

I don't know if you can get them in the US but the nite tritium glow rings are reasonably priced and nice and bright.

Quoting this for notice. Here's the pic. Drank a cup of coffee, opened the window and took this pic.

Yeah, I know it's inches; don't usually speak mm around here. Hoping it gives you some sense of scale at least. Top is a TEC Ti glow fob. Bottom is a TEC Isotope. The Isotope is holding a 3mm x 23mm green tritium vial.

Ah thanks heaps for that. The pictures on the store site make the Isotope look bigger than the S3.

    Much appreciated.

Nice - I like the dark one - has a gun metal look to it.
