I'm in love with these 2 new Hinderer pens....
And brass plus brass is heaven...
Just for fun I was looking at the titanium pens. I am curious as to what the difference to the titanium having a bead blasted finish vs the tumbled finish?
Tumbled is essentially the same as the XM-loc bar finish. Bead blasted is more of a matte, dull finish.
What model sak might that be?
Hi, it's a Copper Lumberjack from Swiss Bianco.
Just received my SS Investigator. Very pleased with the quality and it fits my hand perfectly. However the Fisher refill it was supplied with has just slid out by half a centimetre and now rattles around Inside the pen - needless to say if I try and write it slids back up inside. Has anyone else experienced this? Have I forgotten to do / add something? It came fitted with a bold refill that initially sat inside the pen correctly - this is day two and it's no longer seated properly. Help!
In addition to this - just saw a post on another forum with the pen disassembled and it shows a spring. Mins doesn't have a spring - would this be the problem? And if so, where does the spring sit?
Did someone say:
When you opened your pen, you lost the spring.
The spring sits behind the refill between the refill a few the screw on cap.
Thanks - looking for it now. That said, I don't see how this will resolve the problem as surely that would force the refill out of the (writing) end of the pen? The problem being that it is currently already too far out of the end of the pen...?
Oops! You're right. I apologize. Must be old age. The spring goes on the skinny shaft part of the refill to push it back. I remember when it happened, I took a spring from a cheap ballpoint to replace the original. I needed to cut it short, slightly.
Ah - that makes more sense! I put my old age (42 summers) down to losing the bloody spring in the first place... Thanks!
Problem fixed - thanks to your help Tower (that and a 1 Euro ballpoint) and the pen now works as it should.
A titanium Extreme Duty I shot for 110 Euros at the bay! Lucky day!
