Since these Hinderer Pens are so cool, I thought they deserved their own thread. Please post pictures of you Hinderer pens! Lets see some cool pics with them like the EDC pics threads.
I want to order one for Christmas, but the SS Investigator Pen has been out of stock on most sites for a long time now! I am hoping it comes back in soon so I can get it in time. I really want the Investigator, but after I looked at its specs, I am a little worried about its size. Pen Size Specs: - 3/8” Diameter - Overall Length 4 ¼” - Weight 1.8oz When I look at 4 ¼” on a ruler is looks soo small! That is 1" shorter than a Bic pen (with the cap off!)... Can someone please take pics of their Investigator pen next to a ruler. 1 with the pen closed and 1 with the cap on the back. Thanks so much! Also... some thoughts about the Copper Investigator pen. Does anyone have a pic of one that is aged? this was my 2nd choice, but i was worried that this material would not be as durable as the SS pen.
My copper collection. I've had my copper Hinderer for about a week now. I'm lovin' it. (sorry for the poor quality)
Both seem to hold up the same. Haven't carried either one very much. Most of the writing I do is at work. Work provides any pens, mechanical pencils, or high lighters we need, so I use theirs instead of mine.
how is the writing quality of the pen as a whole. does it seen to feel like a quality $60 pen when it writes or does it feel like a Bic or regular pen that is metal?
Has anyone purchased the refills for the pens yet? are the refills something you can find in stores or need to be ordered online? Also, The threads on the Investigator seen to look thin and fragile almost from the pics. has anyone had any issues with messing up the threads, screwing the cap on and off, front and back?
Only pens in this price range I have, so nothing to compare them to. Refills are Fisher Space Pen refills. You can find them in most Staples and office supply stores. No problem with the threads. These pens are made to high standards. Rick Hinderer wouldn't put his name on a inferior product.
Has anyone found a gel of insert to fit the Extreme Duty? Can you simply razor knife the plastic insert off the bottom of a Parker? Cheers, Ted
I am going to get one also, just trying to find one in stock. Looks like and Awesome edc pen. Can't wait Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I do not like short pens at all, so at 4 1/4" it would not be a pen that I would choose to purchase. But I do like the copper color. Fisher pens that everyone speaks so highly of fit into the same to short category. A Retro 51 Pen is about the length limit of a pen that I use and when it comes to the Retro 51 pens I probably have a couple of dozen of them. With a Parker Gel refill the Retro 51 is the right pen and refill combination.
Hope it helps! I found even though I knew the dimensions, it was still smaller than I had expected. Still a fantastic little pen thought!
