I’ve been bullet journaling in field notes for couple of months now. I love it and am totally hooked.

I just wanted to ask if anyone has experience with the hypalon recycled firefighter cover? I love my field notes, they just get beat up in my pocket. I was looking for a a very thin minimal cover that would give some protection and I thought this would fit the bill. It’s just hard to justify $40. I thought about the buying first explaining to the wife later approach but have so far held off. I even had it in my cart on the website and came so close to clicking order but didn’t go through with it.

I leafed through all 33 pages of this thread trying to see if there was anything I like better but haven’t seen it yet.

I have a Recycled Firefighter Field Notes wallet. Great quality, but FYI, hypalon is a bit “clingy” in the pocket, and I’ve found mine difficult to remove at times. Great if you’re trying to NOT spend money on stuff, though.

@Tromba: Three rules to keep in mind

    (1) tis better to ask forgiveness rather than ask permission

    (2) never explain, never justify

    (3) just never discuss. No discussion, no arguments! Hope this one works better for you than sometimes does for me! ;)

    L'chaim!

I would be using it strictly for a field notes cover not a wallet. I don’t think I would mind the stickiness of the hypalon. In the summer it rides in a cargo pocket. In jeans weather it rides in the front pocket under my wallet.

If you want minimal and cheap, check out the alldayruckoff covers. Canvas/waxed canvas and sub $20.

I have the Recycled Firefighter Field Notes cover. They call it the "Firehose Inspector". It's a little pricey, but very cool. [IMG][IMG]

Here's a second for the All Day Ruckoff FN cover. Not overly done and easily holds 2 books. I'm a bullet journal user as well and this really brings my system together. Very thin and light so it's not cumbersome to carry, and it holds a small pen very nicely in the crease between the books. I bought it thinking I would find something better but I've been completely satisfied with it's performance & utility.
