    I believe there are limitations on this, if I remember you cannot hide assets after you are convicted but before....well...

    There is getting involved and then there is getting involved.
    Ask the family of the guy in Rutland, VT who 'got involved' in the Price Chopper parking lot and then bled to death from a severed carotoid. I guess the people who tried to help him got involved too. Also bloody from trying to stop the jetting blood with their shirts.
    I would have gotten involved with the bleeding guy but gone to buy bread if I saw violence about to take place.

    Thats right. And there are people called "forensic accountants" that will find your money. If you move it offshore and there is a record, thats proof of your intent do defraud. If you move it offshore and theres no record, thats a different felony too.
