Haha no there are almost no mountains, but there are dunes and some small hills where some cyclist groups have made some parkour everyone can ride.

This one isn't mine, but I'm saving to build one right now. Really enamored with the work that Rob English does and am in love with his suitcase packable frame.

A Merida Big Seven 70 2014, got it last week from a neighbor at a bargain price. SRAM mech, first time I've tried non-Shimano, handles sweet - curbs, bad, bad pavements and forest trails as well.

Once I tried SRAM I have never gone back!
Especially great for getting up,downshifting several gears in one shot and Stomping the pedals!

Yes, shifting 2-3 down in a single movement is just perfect and stomping... well stomping is one thing I can do well!

My go to bike is a Cannondale Bad Boy Ultra Gargoyle edition I modded with a Selle Italia saddle, 26 in wheels (stock are 700c), slicks, Avid mechanical disc brakes (it came with Magura Julie hydrolics) and carbon bar ends as well as two bottle cages, undersaddle repair kit and mini pump. I love the headshok that I can lock out if needed as it really takes the buzz out of riding the stiff aluminum frame. I never lock it up, it comes with me inside.

My short trip to the store bike is a 20 inch mini velo type bike I modded out of an old folding bike with a Sturmy Archer 3 speed hub. I stripped it down ( fenders, chain guard, light), added this and that I had lying aroud fro other broken down bikes and its so ugly I don't worry about it getting stolen but 20 inch wheels are so fun to ride I am considering a nice mini velo bike. Wish mini velos were as available in North America as in Asia.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you swap the hydraulic Maguras for mechanical disk brakes?

Still getting it outfitted, and learning a bit about what's new in bikes (which is a lot since I was riding).

    • Ventura Universal Bicycle Carrier Rack
    • Avenir Metro Panniers (1,380 Cubic-Inch Capacity)
    • Avenir Bigmouth Velcro Seat Bag (Small- 27 Cubic Inches) — discontinued
    • Cygolite Metro 400 Hot Shot USB Combo Lights (front and rear)
    • Montague kickstand (actually a Greenfield KS2B), Greenfield kickstand rubber foot
    • Origin8 Amica Bell―want to get an Oi bicycle bell
    • Ivation Multi-Function Bicycle Speaker
    • molle frame bag w/ small bags attached to it―need to cover up the logo patches (on the other side)
    • moved the front reflector off the handlebars, down to the stem using a rear reflector seat post bracket (Thanks again Holmes Cycling & Fitness!)
    • cheap flask from Five Below, and aluminum bottle cage cold-formed to hold it
Bought a cheap lock, but it’s a folder, so keep it at my desk, but need to get a better one.
Still need to work out a tool kit―did get a VAR triple spoke wrench, and thinking about getting my Fix-it-Sticks from my laptop bag.
Have since gotten a Giant Axact 6 wired cycling computer (was using a Cateye wireless, but it lost the connection between the sender and the computer and replacing batteries didn't fix it), seat post rack boss adapter (but want a nicer one) and still need fenders (or a Montague Rackstand―wish they were available for sale—apparently they want disk brakes though)
