    I'd gladly trade you!
Tomorrow I will be installing my window air conditioner. Usually I pull this thing out in may. Janurary will be a first.

These last few posts should be in the weather thread. I'd trade happily. This morning it's 5 (wish it was C). And my ADHD Jack Russell wants to go outside.

I found a dead mole on my walkway. I'm more upset than mad. It's sad that it died like that. Or something.

We got our dog when we lived in Texas, he was born there and spent the first 5 years of his life there. He is just a little guy as well and he has seen cold and snow for the first time this winter. It confused the heck out of him when he couldn't find any grass to do his business on. He is past that now and likes to bound in the snow, but it doesn't take him long to lock up and need to be carried when temp drops.

Getting bad news sucks. But in this case, I would rather hear it than not and it was delivered by a friend that I haven't talked to in a while so we got to have a bit of a conversation.

How do animals survive in such a wide range of temperatures without changing their coats? Why can't we do this too?

Most of them will grow and undercoat that they shed in the spring, in some ways they are far more advanced than we are.

We have. We wear coats which can be taken off within seconds and then put back on again when we want. :D

Not if you live in the North East of England you don't. Coats are a sign of weakness

Here there is a pride thing among combat soldiers that they refuse to wear a coat. In the UK it's the girls who refuse, wearing their mini skirts in freezing conditions while going to get a curry. I think that means they are more macho than the paratroopers. Hmmm. :)

I don't do the mini skirt. I'm not a skirt kinda gal. I also prefer cheesy chips or a kebab to watery takeaway curry so I'm not sure where I land on the spectrum.

I enjoy talking to college kids wearing their North Face jackets while standing in the parking lot at about 10°F or less. I wear layers and Carhartts. After a few minutes they realize I've been making them freeze their tails off and start to cuss me out.

Ahh, the perfect combo. Not stylish but warm and evil.

Can't always teach old dogs new tricks but they still know how to bite.

I miss the younger people in my life I used to talk with. I am surrounded by senior citizens.

I put a new cab on my snowblower today what a pain in the butt, tried to fix the one I had on it before. Went to HD to pick up some pipe clamps and got the wrong size, measured the pipe frame and it's 1 inch diameter so I bought 1 inch pipe clamps get home and they don't fit so I have to go back for a refund. Then I go to install the new I had and to get it started you need 3 hands to hold everything and tighten the bolts at the same time. Anyway here is the new cab installed.

The roads that I use to get to work and bad everyday have had their speed limits lowered so it takes me longer to get to and from work and also today I had some "large men member" riding my bumper like a scene out of broke back mountain. All the flipping way down the tight country roads. If it wasn't for the fact that I was starving and wanted a wee he would would of got it both barrels. I don't like the fact the speed limit has changed and I don't want to drive like miss daisy but that's how it is. And the police constantly patrol it now because no one wants to be going so bloody slow, and for that reason I push down every instinct in my bones and drive at the new limits set out. It's a nightmare and this guy behind me really got on my nerves today.
Don't think he would have been happy if I'd got out as I had about four knives (UK legal) a blinding 1000 lumen flashlight and great place to hide a cold lifeless body.
