With all due respect, that will NEVER work. We've taken licenses away from people and have made it more difficult for repeat offenders to get affordable insurance .............. and what do they do. Drive without a license and without insurance. I've seen it done countless times and in fact have had a person hit my car who didn't have insurance and a suspended license. What did that do for me. Have to make me pay for my own deductible, because the other person did not have insurance.

Maybe a bit harsh, but enough is enough. And it's just not 1 demographic ............. it's everyone from as young as an 18 year old up to seniors. Yes, I've seen seniors talk and text while driving. I've always been an alert driver and so I'm very aware of what is around my "circle" when I drive. I've had to be in order to avoid being hit.

I've even toyed with the idea of having a cell phone jammer installed in my car so that other in my "circles" area have there cell signal drop. But than I would get charged for interfering with a life safety issue!! Oh, the laws!!!!!!!

At least something that jams the phones inside the car while it's moving.

While it's a cool idea and we'd all love to see less people driving with their phones out, a phone jammer would also take out your ability to call for help while the car is moving. So, you couldn't call for a police escort/give info to EMTs/hospital workers while driving a wounded person to the hospital or call a friend for directions etc. I talk on my phone while driving, it's called Bluetooth and I love it. No more distracting than talking to others in the car since there's a button on my steering wheel, and I only use it for replying to calls. I would like a mandatory app on phones that disables the texting function while the phone's GPS determines the phone is moving.

The smart phone debate is going to exist for a very long time because of how good the benefits are. The other big one is cell phone usage in schools. The school I work in has a bring your own device policy. Basically, students are allowed to have their phones in school as long as the phone is in their locker during class unless the teacher gives permission. There are many good uses for phones/other devices in class, like research and group answering/participating. There's a website called Kahoot that lets teachers see every students' answers to a series of questions. That's great for getting responses from students who don't normally like to participate. However, most students bring their phones to class all the time, because they're too lazy to pay attention to know when it's acceptable and when it isn't. So, many use them inappropriately and disrupt class.

Parents that take their young children to a store and lose them then panic because they realize the child has walked away and they( the parent ) have no idea of where or when the child disappeared. This is just what happened today at work, the mother comes from out in our greenhouse screaming her kid's name and in a panic trying to drag her shopping cart with her other child in it and double stroller around trying to look for her kid. I walked over to her to try and get information out of her to help but she just kept going off in a panic, the child was found roughly 50 feet from where she was but in the main part of the store and roughly about 4 years old. I understand the panic but if you paid more attention to your children or kept them in the cart or stroller you would not be going through this.

I have had to stay within budget all year because of Obama care restrictions on health insurance. Since I am retired I take out IRAs as needed. You have to list what you are taking out in the beginning of the year. Looks like I am sticking to it this year, just put off gear oil changes on my truck.

So, after work, instead of going home to enjoy my day off and catch up on badly needed sleep; I'm gonna go to Manhattan to (hopefully) get my previous two paychecks from the joke of a security company I work for. Not sure if I mentioned this already. But those lazy excuses for humanity actually complained to the central office that mailing out everyone's checks was too much work for them. The post office is four blocks up the fricking street. But Central bought the lie and they'll now mail out our checks. From out of state. But that'll be at the start of the New Year.

Honestly, I'm surprised no one has gone off on them at that dinky office and committed some violence up in there. Some people have to learn the hard way, you don't screw around with folks' money.

Yup. I plan on filing a complaint with the Dept. of Labor after I find a different job.

Not only is the writing on the wall. But some dude with a megaphone is shouting at me what's spray painted on that wall in 50-foot lettering. (BTW, yeah; they had both checks just sitting there.)

Hopefully no one is considering violence, that just hurts the people who happen to be there at the time. Take the company to task if they are violating the law with regard to delayed payment, make them pay you in full, on time. And maybe something extra for trying to do otherwise.

Some of those young cats who are security officers, mixed with the attitude of the lazy, worthless, joke of humanity in that office.... I'm genuinely surprised that nothing has happened yet! I truly am!

I understand the frustration, it's just sad that we think of that as a possible or probable outcome these days. Not all that long ago, it would have been horrific and unusual to even consider it.

In fairness, even several generations ago, the most corrupt companies understood that you didn't screw around with employees' paychecks. Even the really corrupt ones that paid workers in mining towns with Company tokens instead of real money. So, the workers could only spend the tokens at the Company store. As disgusting as that concept is, those companies still made sure to pay their workers when payday rolled around.

I am watching weather to see if I need chains before going out, instead of in a suit and tie.
