I would LOVE to find a "Colonel Pogue" Seiko 6139 with factory parts in decent condition. Hard to believe that the original sold at auction for only a few thousand!

I've given up hope of ever getting a Rolex Daytona due to the long wait list and never having the money for one. My father passed away a few days ago and after we sell his house I'm going to treat myself to a new watch. Now I could get a never worn Daytona at an inflated price but I'm really taken with the dsotm pitch black speedy. Love that it has so much lume on it. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
@Sao: My condolences on your father's passing. May his memory be a blessing to you and your family. L'chaim! Moshe ben David
The one watch I've always wanted has been a Breitling. My father wore one daily and when he passed I was supposed to get it per the will among other watches in his collection. My drug addict step brother stole all the watches and either sold or pawned them. I'm talking 2 Rolexes, a Chopard, a Breitling, and one other one I can't recall. So ever since that I've wanted a Breitling. I ended up buying one that I liked but wasn't quite like dads. I now have a Blue faced SuperOcean with the vintage braided steel bracelet and deployment clasp. I absolutely love it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Mine is for sale today... Ref. 6239 An iconic, highly attractive, and historically important stainless steel chronograph wristwatch with off-white dial and tachymeter bezel Not a Paul Newman Daytona, THE Paul Newman Daytona. I am afraid I might be several million dollars short.
I have this exact watch. Got in in 1971 from my father for a birthday gift. Had it reconditioned a few years ago and still runs great
Use to be I was head over heels for an Omega Speedmaster. Thought it was gorgeous, and it was neat that it was the 'Moon watch'. At 3500 bucks, it's ever so slightly out of my price range. Instead, was introduced to the Bulova alternative, for 1/5 the price, which I love, and it scratched the itch. I don't really have a grail watch, otherwise. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
My want is quite moderate. I want a Seiko SNE109 Orange solar diver. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
Right? A watch that cost $210 when it was produced. It sold for a ludicrous amount simply because it was once owned by some random famous guy. The ones not owned by him seem to be selling for in the 6 figures which is "market value" for luxury collectibles I guess. I get spending money on quality, or finery, or rarity or what have you. I think 6 figures on a watch is silly but I understand the collectible side of it. Spending insane amounts money on something simply because it was owned by a certain person is just plain stupid imho. I honestly can't think of anyone so special that I'd pay above market value for any of their possessions.
