Don't want to clog these threads with a non-product post (maybe I'll moderate myself later), but found myself having to tug on HELM's cape again. When you want something done, you go directly to the driving force behind the company. But not wanting to bother Suzy (HELM's business partner and wife), contacted HELM instead. Came at a bad time — HELM was traveling internationally, maybe to work out details on that next killer SERT bag? Needed huge favor on behalf of a member, to work out a situation (not anyone's fault, absolutely not SERT's or the member's; an outside-the-box request having absolutely zero to do with product quality, construction or design). Like I said, I popped up at a bad time; this could've waited day or two (or more if needed). Instead, what I got was: I just landed stateside and boarding my connecting flight to DC right now ... I'll try to get this done ... next week. Then this, one hour and four minutes later: Dan, just landed in DC. I'll take care of this. This story speaks for itself. Exemplifies above-and-beyond customer service. Oh, and they bring some awesome bags to market too! Thanks HELM! Dan
Darn good thing I'm not the sensitive type! Note to self: issue warning to @T.H. Cone for Rule 1 violation(s). But on balance, when you're right, you're right. Has a great (well-deserved) rep around these parts.
He is a great guy. He took the time to make a video for me explaining how different styles of backpack straps work and what to look for to find a pack that would fit me well. That right there blew me away completely. I'm hoping that an Evade in Typhon is still available when I can source the funds.
True, but then I can't "keep an eye on him." If not apparent to some, T.H. and I have fun, taking good-natured pokes at one another. In fact, we've become virtual-friends. Heck, I've even had gourmet cookies delivered to him.
Yep, that's HELM! And, that's Xbanker, too: always ensuring that people that do good works get the recognition they deserve. And, that's T.H. Cone, too: always ... um, always ... hum, er-r-r, always derailing a thread. Yeah, that's it, he's always ... never mind (Just kidding, T.H.)
