UK law sucks huh?
Friend of mine got stopped at a major UK Underground station and was grilled for having a Leatherman by BTP....they didn't take it off him as he is an IT Geek and he convinced them it was job related (which it was), they did however 'advise' him he shouldn't carry it on the Underground system in the future.
Pretty normal for the UK tbh
Sounds like it. I already knew the gun laws suck.
When will people learn that laws don't have any effect on criminals?
Talk about laws. Both The UK and Denmark (propably other places too) have crazy strict laws!
I cant even stop at a gas station when i'm going somewhere with my leatherman wave. Because i'm only allowed to carry it to and from the place of use
Congratulations !! What a great haul of tools. Love the orange.
Do yourself a big favour, throw those batteries and buy some eneloops AAs and a charger. Alkaline batts leak and mess up you torches, ask me how I know this
Sooooooooooo what watch is that you have on? I can't tell from that angle.
I do have some eneloops, I use them quite a lot for my camera but I just threw those in 'cause I wanted to use it NOW NOW NOW. Hahaha. But yeah I shall certainly take that advice.
The watch is just a reasonably cheap Fossil. Stella I think it's called.
Picked it for my 18th so it's battered and needs a clean now.
Does anyone know what the coating on these things are? I've found a little chip type thing that I definitely haven't inflicted. Although in a way I'm not particularly bothered about this as I can now not worry about giving it battle scars
This little comparison is more for the benefit and interest of myself and cowsmilk but I thought I'd pop it here for the interest of everyone else in case.
Plus I didn't get charged any customs fees, nor tax, not shipping and handling from anyone in the UK.
Looks similar to Australia lol, I looked at a bullet pen, to buy it in Oz was $80, to buy it in the states and have it shipped here was $80, to get TXmark to buy it and send it and reimburse him was $35
Guys on here are awesome
$225?!? Wow!! That's quite the difference. Glad I was able to help.
The US prices are just what I bought them for off Amazon as well; had I shopped around more extensively I probably could've found them cheaper, but I wanted to ideally send them to you from one source.
I also agree that people from here are awesome! To the max!
The coating seems fairly fragile. It's already wearing off of mine in the joints. I kind of expected that, and I think it will end up looking pretty cool with the bare metal showing on the edges.
I was actually quite surprised to see the coating was on the detent on the blades, but it's now wearing off, which isn't bothering me. Also every now and again when I open it, there's coating smears on the plier head but it just wipes off so again I'm not fussed about that. I expected it to come off in all the tool areas like the lock bar etc. I too think it'll look cool beat up. I'm assuming the "chip" on that edge came like that from factory as it was like that straight out of the blister pack.
Yep, wasn't me.
If you'd have got that thing out of the blister pack and back in through that little hole you cut for packaging, I'd probably accuse you of witchcraft.
Using the wave at work a lot. Solely, I am ashamed to admit, because the orange matches colours in the company I work for'a logo. I know, typical bloody woman.
I like the button snap on the sheath better than the Velcro. Much quieter and less likely to get crap stuck to it.
Coating seems to wear rather easily but I think it could look pretty cool once a few more parts start to wear. If it looks less than cool once it's all started to chip off, I may try a paint made for metal.
How many customers are going to ask you where to buy one in the store??
I expected the paint job to be more sturdy.
I'll have to direct them to the cheap alternatives that are 1/10th of the price to avoid giving them a heart attack or mugging me.
I did too, I haven't subjected it to anything that would obviously scratch or chip it yet. It's come in contact with no abrasive surfaces. I sometimes like a weathered look on gear though so hopefully it'll look decent. If not I'll probably try and redo or remove the finish altogether.
Or send them an email if this is supposed to happen. Maybe the paint preparation wasn't done correctly or the paint itself was iffy.
