I've been obsessed with the stuff people carry for some time now. I have always been the type to have a bit "more" on me than the general person - that is mostly thanks to going through Boy Scouts and getting my Eagle. Since then, I have taken more of an interest in my EDC, and putting thought into what I carry myself. My EDC rotates a bit. I'm mostly going to post my carry for the day, my thoughts on various bits of gear, and the quest for the various Grails. Here is what I carried today, 9/16. I would consider it a pretty "standard" carry for me: Shown above: Ray-Ban Wayfarers Citizen Perpetual Chrono AT iTaste MVP Spyderco Techno Huckberry notebook cover + Field Notes "America the Beautiful" notebook Fisher Space Pen Alox Cadet Fenix LD10 R5 Burts Bees Honey EDCF Challenge Coin + holder Fossil card case M-Clip money clip Keys + S-Biener Not Shown: Samsung Galaxy SIII + Otterbox case Normally, the knife and watch rotate fairly often (both these are new, and may be seen for a while). The wallet rotates more than it should (I am up to like 15), and the other items mostly stay static. Today, I decided it was time to move up from my little Victorinox laptop case. It worked, but it was tiny, and had very poor internal pockets. I wanted a bag that could do a bit more - something that worked in the office, yet I could take it on a short hike, or do general EDC stuff with. I also wanted sometihnig with a CCW pouch, to give myself another option for carry. Luckily, that bag exists, and it is the 5.11 COVRT18. This thing is the perfect size, looks discreet, yet can do it all. I picked it up at Gander Mountain, got the loadout started, and while I still need to pick a few things up, it is pretty close to set up. Here is how it currently stands: Outside of bag. Looks...boring. Inside admin pocket - notebooks, business cards, and pens: Inside MOLLE pouch - Leatherman Wave, Streamlight ProTac 1L, Izula, Exotac Nanostriker XL: Main pouch - Laptop, papers, cords. CCW Pouch - G19, Extra Mag: Going to start using this and give my thoughts about it in the near future. Sorry for the potato quality photos - I know I need to up my game.
