I really want to spend a :censored: tonne of money and buy a load of things I don't really need. I would like to end up with a keychain looking something like this:

And to achieve that I will need to purchase the following:

    One UFO (uni flex organiser):

    One p7 suspension clip:

One split ring kit: ( I know that I have small split rings at home but they're not silver, or ovular or so :censored: cool!)

And finally, no less than four python clips:

I have no idea how much this will cost me (other than that it will be a lot) because it depends entirely on what is in stock on amazon, heinnie etc. and who I end up ordering from.

So please talk me out of this!!!

50+ views and not a soul mentioned a word against your purchases. Hrmmmm. Fooling around with a keychain setup is my second favorite type of fooling around.

Those P7 suspension clips are the greatest. I also have their Isotope tritium fob clipped on the end of a flashlight.

Kind if nice opening one eye in the middle of the night and seeing that soft green tritium glow on the nightstand.

I want to tell you no, but I can't. You know that you are asking for help from a bunch of enablers right?
Oh and I almost forgot, you didn't mention the tritium fobs, you may want to look at those too.

The P7 suspension clips are too much money for what they are. Buy the split ring kit as you'll need it to make your own suspension clip.
Find old teaspoon in kitchen drawer buy teaspoon or a set of them, drill a hole in the end of the handle, cut off bowl of spoon, bend end of ex-spoon handle to suit, attach split ring from kit, one "you made it" suspension clip. Repeat as many times as you need.

Do it a little bit at a time. No need to talk yourself out of it just do it slowly as you can afford it. I'd just start with the P7 and split rings. You can add the UFO and pythons later.

Although I love custom do-it-yourself stuff I completely disagree with this. I currently don't use a P7 because I found a sweet Ti clip that I love but the P7 is an awesome clip and worth the money. That's just my 2 cents...but making your own is super cool too if they turn out well.

OP, I see that you didn't mention the TEC Isotope, tritium tube for the Isotope, TEC Inchworm and Atwood (Whistle?) that are also in the picture! I am in agreement with ManVsLawn though. Figuring out the keychain can be one of the best things about this hobby.

    lol!

Isaac, as pretty much everyone from ManVsLawn on wrote, just do it. We're not talking functionality here: plain old stainless steel or aluminum accessories would do the same stuff as the items you selected. Heck, paperclips, an old spoon handle, some metal washers could all be made into most of those items.

But, if you've got the money and you want all of those, then buy'em and enjoy them. There's an old German saying that in English is something like "ain't no beer in Heaven; gotta drink it now." Once as a young man I saw my buddies die. I felt the cold hand of Death on my shoulder (dang, that sounds melodramatic: how about I was scared spitless that I would die from my wounds, too.). Anyway, my mantra now is "You're dead for an awfully long time so do it now." I'd like to tell you that this guiding principle has always lead me on the way forward. But, the truth is complicated.

Also, I was poor once and remember months of never buying anything except food and paying the rent (sometimes). In a year's time my wife and I went to dinner once ... to a McDonald's (and, we had a great time, too!). But, reading between the lines, that's not where you are at. So, if you can afford those things and you want them, buy them.

After you get them, please tell us what you think.

BTW, I think the forum store should have all of those items, and probably cheaper than the other places. (anyway IIRC Jon had all of that a few months ago), bonus being you support the forum in the process.

Edit; Lol... didn't refresh before posting, DFT17 beat me to it

Looks good to me, pull that trigger. Actually you should add a retreev to that shopping list too, would look snazzy on the keychain. Although.... if you were to drop your keys down a sewer grate you would not be able to use it to get them out...

I have the exact setup and loved it. I have refined my carry since getting it. But it still rides in my bag.

The forum made me do it!!!

Just bought everything I wanted except three python clips, my bank account couldn't stretch to all four, so. I just got one for the moment.

I like the python clips but they are expensive, I'm considering getting another true utility keyring system that comes with 4 clips --- and the whole thing is $8.
