It seems to be pretty standard and in line with my other large jackets.I'm 6.0' 175 ,and the large fits me perfect with just enough room for a heavy layer.

TAD just recently got some Ranger Hoodies in stock and I am seriously considering looking at one. For sure a good piece and would serve purpose for extreme cold temps.

I am 5-7, 175 with a 42" chest and I wear the Ranger Hoodie in a large. I originally bought in a medium as their site indicated that was the correct size and while it fit, it was too snug to put another layer under it so I had to exchange it. With the large, I can layer another fleece or sweatshirt under it. It's much more versatile to me that way. It's extremely warm and gets me through my cold New England winters where it has been getting down to single digits quite regularly lately.

Very few places have been colder in the U.S. than Chicago this winter and I can tell you that my Ranger Hoodie has been getting a done of use over the past couple months.

Nice review, I definitely agree, using both a Ranger Lt and a Shagmaster separately in 0-5C recently with just a long sleeve T shirt (cotton) as a base layer - stayed warm and good to go.

Any views on the Arc Alpha LT vs the Stealth LT?

Ps - props to Richard at HH, he's a superstar.

I am typically a non-hood type of guy BUT I decided to get the Ranger Hoodie for the warmth factor. The hood is the BEST design i have ever seen in a hood. If you dont want it up, the design lays flat in the back and you can still zip it up all the way to keep your neck warm.. The hood is also deep enough that it protects your face (ie when up it hangs over your face enough to give you good coverage, where other hoods barely come ot your forehead.)

I have a condor where the hoods stows (big bulky neck brace feeling) OR you can lay it flat (sorta)- BUT the Ranger is a much better design..

I've had my Ranger Hoodie for about one week now. I love it! It's incredibly warm and I love the small details like the d-rings and pen/knife sleeves inside the pockets. I like it so much I might order another in a different color.

I have seriously considered ordering a green one, but will wait until next year OR i find a nice used one

BUT a ranger hoodie and a Shag within 30 days is enough for a while LOL

This will sound like a very noobish question, but I've looked at pictures and reviews and can't seem to figure it out... Is this a jacket, or a fleece sweatshirt? Or something else entirely?

I've never seen on IRL, but I figure their just very well made, well designed hoodies. If I like the hoodie in the first place I'd want one. :)

It's made of Polartec Wind Pro fleece, which is very thick and heavy. It is designed like a zip up hoodie, but has way more pockets. I'm kind of a jacket junkie, and this is my favorite out of the 20 or so jackets and hoodies I own!
