Love the Swisstool Spirit X but holy crap, when did the price jack up so much? I remember grabbing one for about $50 on sale. Glad I picked up a few more during that time. I like the Wave/Charge as well but the build quality from Victorinox is just on another level. This little guy is my desktop sidekick for PC building/misc or in my backpack, perfect companion to a Paramiltiary 2.

Here are different variations on the logo I noticed. The top one is newest Spirit X with the deepest engraving and most pronounced logo. Second an older X and last is the butter knife.

In Ireland they're about €110 - thats like 125 dollar US. Still worth every cent though! Such a great tool...The scissors are the only sour point though....

I have a brand new one stored away, still using the original 'rectangular' handle version, I totally agree about the quality etc.

EDC = Swisstool Spirt in nylon pouch on LH side and Spyderco PM2 with S35VN in identical pouch on RH side.
My favorite combination for many years.

I also have several extra Swisstool Spirit variations stored away for future.

Cannot stand knives clipped to pocket,,, SUV seatbelt flips them out, marks up car paint and home furniture.
All of my Spyderco knives have nylon pouches for belt carry.
Exception is Delica in ZDP-189 clipped to LH shirt pocket with flap covering.

    Regards,
    FK

I tried one for the heck of it. No arguments about the quality, but :censored: that thing is heavy. Not something you slip into a pocket... belt pouch required.

I wish that the pivot pins that hold the attachments were threaded/undo able and that you could buy extra/different tools. I have modified the blade on one of mine so that it doesn't lock out anymore (crazy UK law) but I think that I'd totally remove it on the next one and fill the slot with another attachment. I always have two other UK legal pocket knives on my anyhow so the Swisstool's hardly get's used.

The Spirit is a FANTASTIC mt!! The combination of butter knife and chisel/box cutter blades is really well thought out, and the overall quality, honestly, it is second to none.

For me it sits between a heavy duty modded LM Surge and a light duty SAK Handyman.

Love mine. Got rid of the other multitools not long after I got the Spirit.
Just wish it came in black or a silver color finish that isn't so shiny. Small issue for such a great tool I know.

My Spirit is always within an arm's reach. For me it's perfect, wouldn't change a thing.

It is not that bad to carry it that way, I have been doing it for several years.

My fav - have two. Carry one in my pocket (really don't find it heavy at all), day pack or bike frame bag on days off when I'm doing stuff where it might come in handy, the other one lives in my truck.

Me too, I can't imagine pocket carry though,....to the guys who do, I'm guessing that you don't have much else in your pockets?
If you do then you must be wearing a belt otherwise they will work their way down. Lol

If I’m not wearing TAD inceptor jeans then the Spirit rides in this:
I’ve gone through most of the multitools and find the Spirit X best of the bunch.

I carry a Spirit with me everywhere I go no exceptions. It just has everything I want in a layout I can live with. If I could change anything I'd give the screwdriver heads some sharper edges so it doesn't slip off screws as easily. Beyond that it'll take something really special to dethrone it, and with Leatherman and their bit driver obsession I don't see it happening.

Same here but mainly because the Spirit Philips makes great use of the Leatherman Drivers too!
