The best use I have found for the hook is pulling up tent pegs, it's actually brilliant for this!

check out some of the YouTube videos by this guy: Nikos Doulas NikGyver. He is sort of a fanatic on the uses of the various tools etc for Victorinox SAK models....

here's one to get started with:

While I always carry a larger blade (for the past few months it's been the Benchmade 535BK-2 Bugout and for years before it was the Benchmade Mini-Grip), I do not want to EDC a larger SAK. I started in the 70's with the Classic and that was it for a good 40 years until I learned about the Ambassador which is, for all intents and purposes, a larger Classic. Then, earlier this year, I learned about the odd Executive and was sold immediately, partly for the second pen blade, mostly for the different file design, and oddly because of the orange peeler. I have many other SAKs (Farmers, Cadets, OHTs, Champ Plus's, Hikers, Explorers, etc. but they reside in my day packs, not in my pocket.

Here's one way I carry my all time favorite SAK, the Champion Plus:

I need to slide a AAA lithium into the above sheath where I keep the tinder and Spark-Lite. Go big or go home, right? ;)

Edited to add, I did the above.
