Anyone know of a sweet that isn't affected by the extremes of heat or cold? Al Simpkins Travel Tins? https://traditionalsweets.com/ The boiled sweets are dusted with icing sugar or something, to help with the stickiness, but no doubt humidity will get in the tin eventually, but at least contained.
Lidl supermarkets sold something similar some years ago, I did try a couple of tins, yeah the dusting did help a bit, they all got stuck together in the end though. Good point about them being in a tin.
My go to to sweet that wont melt and can be stored forever is Mr.Tom. basically a bar of peanuts with caramel. I keep one in my bag usually incase I really want some sweets. Does not happen often so I might have it around for year before I eat it. The other thing you might look at is Turron, something popular in italy and spain. Nuts and sugary stuff, sometimes cocoa. Doesnt melt. Then check out halva, which is a similar sweet popular in greece and turkey. Comes in a variety of consistencies and tastes. These are hot countries in summer, so check out what they eat. Cookies are usually easy to store as well.. dutch speciality.. stroopwaffles can be bought in sealed packs and a have long shelf life. Great with a coffee. The czech make oblatki, big dry round thin waffles. These a great too. Also come with different flavors. Austria has Manner waffeln from vienna that are sold internationally. Those are also good to store and taste really good. Works for vegans, too. Or just throw some dates or raisins, dried mango or apple in your car if you want something healthier. You can store these forever. Nuts are great, too.
Haven't had a Mr Tom for many years now, if I have a long trip planned then I will always take a couple of nut/cereal bars of some kind, I were just thinking of a sweet/breath freshener rather than a food as such,....good suggestions so far chaps.
yes, the mint ones seem to be fine but I prefer a fruity flavour, Polo do do that too but they stick together really easily, I've had trouble separating them right from the shop.
Popular grocery chain (ALDI) sells nuts & raisins in smaller packages (40 grams) - the one with chocolate flakes will melt, but the others ("with fruits") won't. Keep a pack in my EDC bag for when I would need some snacks and don't have other options (like longer travels); doesn't happen that often, so they are easily in the bag for a couple of months / during seasons. Other options for me are granola bars or another "energy" bars (usually with 20-30% protein). Some have chocolate coatings which will melt for sure - others don't. Anyway I don't leave those in a car as it can get pretty hot in summer (above 60°C / 140°F) - better keep it in my bag and only in the sun when walking but still not as hot.
I bought 100g of hard boiled fruit sweets from an old fashioned/dedicated sweet shop, don't know if they will be any better than the Foxes and the hot weather is a long way away so I won't know for ages. I'm still wanting a sweet rather than a snack.

Each sweet was sealed in it's own wrapper. Though seem harder to get hold of. Vivil CremeLife sugar free boiled sweets are packaged the same way.
Yeah, disappeared from the UK. Seems only being made in Canada, and sold in Walmart for $2 a bag, going for £20 a bag on Amazon UK.
