Will cost a bit more than I’d like to pay for a mora. Close to 100€!

I'm afraid the Swedes found out that once they label something "outdoor" they can ask a lot more money as they're already doing for anything labeled "outdoor" at this moment. As long as we pay it they will ask it thou I read somewhere that the actual sales-price is expected to be more in 60,00-ish range but I find that still rather high for a Mora.

In that price range there are a lot of alternatives.

I am willing to pay 30-35€ because i am a little Mora fanboy and because its a fulltang Mora. But a main reason for my fanboyism is the great value for the money aspect...

maybe the price will drop when no one wants to pay ~100$ for a mora?

I may bite at the 40-60$ price range.

    No way I'm paying ~100$.

Hey SM & Mr. lawnmowerman; I was looking in to those Silky saw again the other day and came across a couple of reports of people who ended up with some pretty serious cuts in their hands when the blade shattered on theirs. Apparently the blades are pretty hard on these and they can explode in several pieces when pushed to hard.

So please be careful on the push-stroke with these things, especially when out in the middle of nowhere! I'm definitely sticking to my Laplander now anyways.

    Thanks for the warning mate!
The Silkys like all japanese pull saws require a bit more care and attention when handled i think. They are great saws and cut like crazy but if i had to pick a folding saw for Alone season 2 ;) it would be the Laplander. Mine never ever failed and i trust that saw 100%.

I use the Tajima quite often in the shop now though as the cutting surface is fantastic. :D

    i agree thanks a bunch.

The laplander is definitely gonna be my 'go-to' if I need a handsaw outside of work. I just feel a bit more comfortable, with the saw and the dual stroke action. don't even quote me on that!!!.

Everything is personal with the EDC choices. No wonder we involve our personal selves in the forums.

If it is more comfortable, I will carry it and use it more. Simple solutions for this ape-like lawn dweller.

I 110% agree with this view about edcing. You have the right attitudy bud. Great thinking as always. And a strong opinion about the laplander. As does survivorman.

    Kudos to both

I did the same, but I did get couple of space blankets (don't ever unfold one if you plan to fold it back up neatly, it's impossible) and they're useful for keeping the wind out of your tinder.

I once saw a YouTube video where a guy said that 'if you don't have a masters degree in foldology, don't bother folding them up again'. I questioned it and failed miserably. Good thing the basic ones are cheap.
