Yep you are right, we went there for a walk today. Today it was even cooler than usually since it was around -3°C.
for a moment i thought that said water and not winter and was like you can't post that on the forum my mind is the gutter that other people can't get out of
Mail call makes a monday morning a bit more acceptable . I didn't expect the silky before mid february so that was a nice surprise! ManVsLawn “Knicks and dull edges are abominations, so use knives and hatchets for nothing but they were made for.” – Horace Kephart, 1917
these Ganzo's started off as imitations and some still look like the original but by now they are starting to look like there own models and that's a good thing. Made in 440C, I'm old enough to remember we used to call that steel a "supersteel" and it worked well for knives. I like budget knives so like to hear how this one preforms.
I read/wactched some interesting reviews on it and got curious myself although i usually am not a huge fan of copy knives. I want to use it as a beater knife for the workshop and/or car. First impressions: great build quality for the money, tip absolutely centered, all edges are smooth etc. its heavy! it seems very very sturdy, the lock locks perfectly and the blade has zero wobble or play. the lock needs quite some force to unlock (maybe that changes after some use) the factory edge is a joke unless you want to use it as a splitting axe.... The angle looks like 30° on each side or something like that... so its not exactly a razors edge. I will have to change this and i am afraid this will take quite some effort ergonomics are great shipping was pretty quick The only "tasks" performed so far have been annoying colleagues by opening and closing it over and over and openeing the box of the Silky saw though.
Wow I thought I was the only one who wanted walkie talkies. Is there an EDC mindset or something? I'd get one, but I want to use it overseas and I can't find a global frequency.
We will see if its any better! Well yeah the bottle opener... i know its wasted money since any normal guy opens bottles with a lighter, shovle, desk, screwdriver, pen, another bottle... but it was on sale and somehow sneaked into my Amazon shopping basket.
Yup, unfortunately the signal power of license free walkie talkiesis limited to 0,5W in Germany but i am quite suprised that it still works pretty well. How do you like your Motorola? That model has been on my list, too.
Didn't use it much so far. But used it on vacation in Croatia, and while not having anything to compare them to, there I was satisfied enough to keep them.
Starr bottle openers don't count as EDC anyway. They get screwed to something solid. You know, things that are hardly portable, you can't easily carry in a pack or pocket, and would just get in your way during the day. Things like walls, door frames, and ex-spouses for example. Can't always teach old dogs new tricks but they still know how to bite.
Walking with junior EDC. Not much needed today. “Knicks and dull edges are abominations, so use knives and hatchets for nothing but they were made for.” – Horace Kephart, 1917
