Okay...Okay...Okay...It has been a very, very long time coming. I was not sure if I wanted my own little EDC thread. I don't have the latest and greatest. My keychain for instance may evolve over time, but only very slow. I'm on a tight budget and have to plan and think hard about every dollar I spend on gear. I realize I'm not alone. I love getting shiny new gear and I like to carry it. Sometimes...it's little fairly inexpensive things that makes me excited. Like for instance when I find a good deal at a flea-market or at a yard-sale. I also find good deals in discount stores and in stores like Walmart.

My goal is to be prepared. My EDC is my first line of defense. What I carry on my person is what I would like to call my tier-1. My work bag and my EDC pack are what i would call my tier-2.
My work bag is a work in progress and needs to be more organized. I recently did a large overhaul on my EDC pack and it's actually in great shape now...or at least a very long ways from where it was just a week ago. I have organized EDC gear/items into modules. The modules are two black Maxpedition (Beefy & FR-1) pouches and a Condor Rip-Away EMT Pouch. I chose the Beefy to be my main EDC tool pouch. It's large and very roomy. I have it jam-packed...and I love it ! :D
The Maxpedition FR-1 Pouch is my Survival Kit Module. This module does not go with me everywhere.
It remains here at home until it makes sense to bring it along. Then I will pack it into my EDC pack with the other modules. The Condor Rip-Away EMT Pouch is my FAK (First Aid Kit) Module. This module is currently about 70% done. I have the basics covered with a wide range boo-boo kit. The intention is to have a capable FAK to deal with more serious bleeding etc...

My first picture would have to be a "fresh" one from this afternoon. I picked up a package at the post office with a great Survival Kit...that I won in the 2012-2013 EDCF Giveaway. Here's a picture of some of the loot and my precious EDCF Challenge Coin thrown in for good measure...

I've been trying to stuff everything into a Maxpedition Fatty but I like your idea of splitting it up. I work in an office and sometimes I question why I have outdoor survival kit on me.

I have no idea why, but you can use the knowledge to your advantage. I don't have a cat now but a little while back was living with a girl who had one. Used to drive me nuts when I was on the computer, constantly walking on the keyboard. I put a box on my desk next to my computer and the cat would climb in curl up and watch me from there. Love simple fixes!
On topic (you posted the pic :p) that is a good looking cat.

Depends on your definition of "outdoor survival kit" and what your kit contains. Guess you could have called my vehicle "earthquake kit" an outdoor survival kit during the 25 years lived in California in fairly heavy quake zones.

Here's my current keychain setup. The little blue keychain flashlight is a freebie and will be replaced by a better quality keychain flashlight when it stops working. The "bane" of my setup...are all those pesky store key-fob's. Can't live with them...but can't live without them. Without them...I would pay 30-50 % more for groceries etc. and I wouldn't get a healthy discount on gas for instance. Having two seperate keychain setup's is not an option either. So...I'm kind of "locked in" as far as my keychain setup goes. It's not ideal, but it works for me. Believe me...I have tried hard to figure out how to streamline it, but alternatives are not appealing or even possible for me...

Forgot my store card one day and the cashier asked for my phone number, she put that in and I was good to go. I stopped carrying them after that, just give the cashier my phone number each time. Not sure about all store cards, but the 2 supermarkets I use both do this.

This would work for me as well...but I would still have more than half of them left as I can't give a gas pump my phone number ! :D
At least one of the supermarkets won't look me up by phone number and then...to me it's not worth remembering where they allow it and where they don't. I like shiny titanium items like the next guy...but my keychain rides in my pocket 99% of the time..except when I'm at home. Function greatly outweighs aesthetics as far as I'm concerned...
