im in the market for a decent 'survival' guide. I'm not talking about an army bushcraft guide like the lofty wiseman SAS guide (got it ;) ) but more of a day to day what to do in a flood/power outages/ how much bleach needed to purify water type thing. I could always google this stuff but I want a well researched hard copy for when there's no power/internet

"Find water, don't get naked" from "hunt for the wilderpeople". Cracking film.

P.s. Hope you get some more helpful suggestions soon.

Try 100 Deadly Skill Survival Edition. The first volume, 100 Deadly Skills a SEALs Guide has some utility as well.

I finished Bushcraft 101 or whatever it's called by Dave Canterbury's recently. I've also read Cody Lundin's books and found them informative.

I have a National Geographic Survival book that I've never read, but it's indelible and crafted reasonably well.

You might also try the SAS App. There's an urban survival guide.

I cannot recommend because I haven't read it yet but this is one of the books are on my 'to read' list:
When All Hell Breaks Loose: Stuff You Need To Survive When Disaster Strikes, Survival expert Cody Lundin's new book, When All Hell Breaks Loose: Stuff You Need To Survive When Disaster Strikes is what every family needs to prepare and educate themselves about survival psychology and the skills necessary to negotiate a disaster whether you are at home, in the office, or in your car.
