Ha ha ha ha. What a question!

Well, I've always wanted a Surefire light. Can't justify spending what it costs up till now. And I suppose I'd buy a Sebenza if I had money to throw around. I've also wanted a Hinderer folder for some time, but it's also expensive, if you can even find one. I'm saving up for a Scottevest or something similar, since I'm running out of pocket and belt space lately.

What is life about if we don't have EDC items we can aspire to buy in the future? <grin>

Oh yeah, maybe a Quark light or two, a mini Griptillian.

Yet I wonder. Of all these things you wanted and then bought, which ones actually
made you as happy and satisfied as you thought you might be?

Sometimes it's the little things that see the most use. I can't envision life without
my Lucky Line belt clip anymore.

Out of all the things I bought, which actually made one as happy and satisfied as one thought one might be? None. It's the journey, not the goal. I'm fascinated with learning what works and what doesn't. Ultimately what makes my day easier.
There is definitely a decision to make each time. I find that making those decisions are fun and ultimately worthwhile.
    Too sense.

I want a ZT 302. I keep looking at them but I just can't see myself spending the cash for one right now.

    A 6P or E1B Backup.

Now, I have absolutely no rational reason to buy either.

Which means that within 6 months or so I will probably "find" one and convince myself to buy one....

To rationalize Surefire'd would be a mistake
Tiny little E1B'd be one to take
The 6P is bigger and needs x2 feeding
All too soon appetite leaves wallets bleeding
The Cat in the Hat is my favorite char'cter
Mr Scribbles new choice is my new favorite av'ter
(bit o' poetic I mean doggerel license on avatar)
On that note I wish I could afford to buy every single Dr Seuss book ever printed with enough extra copies to give away to every little kid just learning how to read. (Whew! Just barely got this post back on track.)

    Your verse is quite terse
But it could be much worse!
    It's dashingly clever
    It'll last now forever!
'Cause the Cat in the Hat, you see
Was the original user of Fun EDC!

I think my new avatar is pretty cool also.

It was a choice between that and the title page for Colonel Bleep, an old TV sci-fi cartoon for kids that I grew up with in the Fifties. Does anyone else remember Colonel Bleep? It was in the new Atomic Age, so Colonel Bleep had...atomic power!...to do his good deeds and route evil doers. The Colonel was assisted in his endeavors by his loyal pals, Scratch the Caveman and Rags the Tiger, I think.

Yeah, I grew up reading them, just came out in the late Fifties early Sixties when I was 8 years old or so.
That's how I learned to read, other than mama reading to me.

My sister gave me a DVD of the Cat in the Hat movie and it was a real hoot.

I think my new avatar conveys just the right mix of sagacity and playful crazyness. It reminds me not to take myself too seriously!

The Cat would love a Surefire, but his would probably burn holes in the furniture and cause the house to collapse...

A battle of doggerel has now been decreed!
The prize is a Surefire I'm sure that you need.
The price is negotiable...sure you'll agree.
A doggerel better than mine, Let Us See.

Cuz the Cat in the Hat was the first don't you see...
    the O-ridge-in-all u-ser of fun E-D-C.
The Cat in the Hat...from pockets he'd pull
this that or other, a diamond mine full.
Who would have ever thought that could be there?
Oh no! Just wait. What more could we bear?
This that and more...the Cat would bring fore,
Surprises galore, it just makes you want more.
I'll give you a chance Mr Scribble talk more!
(The gauntlet has been well and properly thrown!)

    A Battle of Poets!
    And Know-It-All Know-Its!
But it's not a Fair Fight
    I advise you, this Night
    Because my Profession
    Is to Edit...and Write!

<not a bad start for someone who is rusty as a poet...>

    Yes, the Cat was Inventive
    Fun was his Incentive
    His actions--Outrageous!
    His laughter--Contagious!
    His puns--Quite Courageous!
    And his Speech?
    Just Loquacious!

    "Uh-Oh!" Scribble said.

    Just one more
    Promise no more
    Before I get out
    There can be no doubt
    Mine is just doggerel
    True metered mongrel
    While Scribbles is art
    Not playing a part
    While I'm just a jester
    He is jest bester
I'll slink to the corner with tail well tuckundered
    Apology gracefully hopefully tendered
    Acceptance deliverance private PM?
I'd like to continue tomorrow AM.

(Just begged for a socking, my knees are a-knocking, my teeth all a-chatter fool fool what's your matter?
Just cannot resist even one more temptation, I hope and I pray for a scarlet redemption...:bolt:)

    I'm glad you did more,
    More prose is in store!
    Your rhymes do save time
    And are Triple A-Prime!"

    My IM is Ailing!
    Is Jon's Tinkering Failing?
    My Sent Box is Empty
    Though I answered you Plenty!

    Push the Thread back on track;
    Speak of "Spyderco's Knack!"
    EDC That I Lack,
    Or Full Pockets that Crack!

    For I now must conspire
    To buy a Surefire
    E1B is the One
    That would be
    So much Fun!

    But my Wallet is Thin
    Not much Cash is Within!
So I'll take my Tin Cup
On the Street; don't give up!
I will Beg for a Light
    "Pardon me, I'm uptight!
Can you spare one Thin Dime
It would not be a Crime!
It would be a Good Cause
    An E1B in my Paws!
I would Light Up the Night
    It would All Be Alright!

If I cough, it's not colic
    I'm a poor Flashoholic!
