I've got a pretty nice Stethoscope that I carry with me since I use it for work, but I'm struggling with how to transport it in my backpack. Right now it's just sitting loose in the main compartment of my North Face Surge backpack.

Has anyone come up with some innovate storage techniques for carrying one of these around in your bag?

I just can't seem to find a perfect pocket inside the bag, or an attachment point on the outside of the bag, so I'm looking for ideas.

    Thank you.

For work I just chuck it in the bag or my cargo pocket. I do have a little obs kit that I carry personally sometimes in a semi rigid eva case I got from a thrift store.

My dad stored one in an old calculator case. No idea what he used it for. There were lots of things my dad did that we weren't supposed to ask questions about.

My dad was a mild mannered blue collar guy, but about once a year his brother in New York would have a heart attack, and he'd go to help take care of him. At least 24 times that I can remember. My uncle lived into his late 80's, not bad for a guy who had that many heart attacks.

That sounds like the cover story you give to your children for other activity. :)

I either throw it in the main compartment or if I'm off for afew days I use a pencil bag I picked up at staples while school shopping for the kids a few years ago.

5.11 MOLLE Upright General Purpose Pouch attached to my bag. It is easy to move from bag to bag without any problems.

You could get some felt and make a pouch for it, at least keep the dust off it. Had the same issue with mine.

I carry my Littmann stethoscope in a neoprene pencil case. It,s black and has a skull & crossbones on it. Tactful eh? This lives in my work backpack. Other than that I only carry my lunch, nalgene of water, a pair of Oxford handholds (Psychiatry and clinical medicine). It's a high security psych ward. Fun.

I just throw mine in the front pocket of a Camelbak Rimrunner. At work it rides in my cargo pocket.

my father who was in respiratory therepy had an old combat trauma kit bag (about 6"x6") that he would molle to the outside of his day bag. when he was doing his rounds he would take the kit bag off his day bag and it fit nicely in the shirt pocket of his scrubs.

I just throw mine in my bag, along with everything else. Littmann Cardiology III. They can take a beating, so don't spend $60 on a Tad Gear Multicam Molle 'scope pouch, unless you really want to.

I found this neat idea on etsy for storing a stethoscope and badge etc. Search " stethoscope storage " on etsy. it is a white wall holder. Does anyone use anything like this?
