Well I was extremely pleased with the overall form factor of the ss jotter until i dropped it from my desk on the floor. The pen tip was retracted. I picked it up and when I pushed the clicky the tip comes out and protrudes further than normal. When I click it again it does not go back inside. I'm really let down by this pen given that it only fell about 3 feet to the ground.
Did the metal at the tip get bent slightly? If it did simply take out the ink cartridge and insert it, tip first, into the opening. Twist the cartridge to ream out the opening. This should fix the problem. I've had several that I've dropped on concrete and the metal flooring of an 18-wheeler trailer that had the same thing happen.
Well, last Friday I was at the day care picking up my son, and my wife asked to borrow my pen to sign him out. I went and got my son and took him out to the car...Long story short, she left the pen and I did not realize it until late Friday evening
If I got a dollar for every time I had to do that... I dont carry it anymore though, but it was my favorite EDC pen, for a long time.
I'm disappointed with my vintage USA made Parker Jotter. With the plastic piece in the tip, the front spring and the fisher cartridge I'm using. It only worked right for a few months. Might try the Parker cartridge again. Still have a French Parker, but I love US made stuff more.
I have the same version but I find it a bit heavy for shirt pocket carry. This is where the jotter shines as it is extremely light. I also like the fact that it is retractable vs a screw on cap.
