I did see some ants on the patio after reading your post, so went and sprayed some pest control stuff around the perimeter of the patio and out front around the plants around the door. Took a quick photo of Ma's lilies which recently came into bloom. :)

gorgeous. I just read about using Epson Salts for pest control and the magnesium in it is good for the plants. Trying that in the raised beds now.

I did try olive oil and soy sauce in a small cut down dixie cup, full of ants the next day. originally read about this for earwigs, works great.

A few of the first tomatoes picked to further ripen in the window. I sliced up one of the jalapeƱos and added it to a cornbread salad that Ma made, and it was good, not too spicy.

Running out of eggplant, Japanese Plums are ripe now and delicious, tomatoes thinning out and Opo getting longer (over 24" now).

Did you know in Australia wild blackberries are considered a pest. The local council usually comes around and makes you spray your entire property to get rid of them or they fine you. They are pretty active in trying to stop them growing as they strangle native flora.

I've been doing the 2 square foot gardening hehe.

They're rubbermaid tubs from home depot.

Mostly I have some tomato and cilantro planted, maybe a few sativas too.

I think more root space is beneficial for plants that you want to yield more with.
