Anyone seen these floating around or counterfeited yet. I received one in the mail today and the logos are raised in a way that I personally have never seen Spyderco do. Here are some pics below maybe you guys who are more educated in Spyder counterfeits can comment and assist. I mean it looks and feels good regardless. But the lettering and logo are something I've never seen as far as feel and look. Thanks guys!

You say you received it in the mail. What was your source that leads you to think this?

I bought it online through a large auction sight. It came via the mail.
But as I stated above the Spydie logo and the actual Spyderco lettering are on there in a way I've never seen from spyderco. The etching, texture feel and visually look different. This may be common on the Sages. But it is totally different from my others be it from the 90's or current.
It me just being curious. Since I got back into collecting again I see people are counterfeiting Spyderco's. I never knew that was an issue. But that's my lack of in depth Spyderco knowledge.
Maybe someone more knowledgable or with a Sage too could comment?
    Thanks again guys. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

It's legit. You've never seen the impressive capabilities of the Taichung maker.

View it fullscreen in 720p to verify.

Thank you sir!! You are correct. I have never seen this workmanship. I should have stated counterfeit or not it looks and feels good. I've just never seen this etching or logo application.
    Thanks again.

I do see a Sage 2 titanium possibly in the future btw. I think the Caly 3.5 super blue is next off the bench.

The lettering and logo look exactly like mine, I can't see a difference. At least not from the pic you posted.

Cool. Thanks. I just wanted to see what the consensus was and have some Spydie expert weight in. Thanks for weighing in!

I found the same thing when I had a PPT on passaround while back. Took some comparison shots next to a Manix 2 at the time.

There was a thread on Spyderco's forum awhile back about how the logo is done by different methods at the different factories.

If you magnify it the logo on taiwan spyderco are etched by tracing the outline over and over, whereas others are composed of horizontal lines.

The logos are different depending on where the blade is manufactured.
