Where did you get the custom scales? Very cool looking!
SMAJ Thanks! I got these second hand, but they are Allen Putnam scales from bladescales.com
Thanks for the history lesson, Wolfman Zack!
The small size and big utility of the Dragonfly is definitely a big deal in places that restrict blade size, whether it's San Francisco, LA, or government facilities. Only trouble is that it's still a locker, so still not allowed in many European jurisdictions. But we have nice SlipIt models like the UKPK, DKPK, Squeak, and Pingo for that!
One can always dream, Patrick87! I wonder what the minimum order quantity is for Spyderco to do a custom model? I know it's less than 1000. But even if it was 500, that would still be 500 x $100 = $50,000. Lots of capital to put up!
Das hätte ich mir aber nie gedacht! I remember reading that dealing with the springs is the hardest part about swapping scales. But I would never have imagined that two Dragonfly models would have different springs. I wonder why? Maybe they designed a higher-quality spring for the salt-water-approved H1 model?
I hope the EDCF store is restocked soon...I NEED one of those coins!

Sometimes dreams come true.
The change of the springs, was pretty easy on the D-Fly. Maybe there are other models where it's worse to change them.
Still running with the drips theme?
Drips drops, it was bucketing down and I only got a few shots off.
I'm just following the latest knife photography trends.

I wish they still made these. They had so many cool styles and we're useful little knives. If they made a new one, I would buy it. Maybe Byrd could take over that mission. Every year, a different design!
Just got a couple of newcomers today, all my Spydies minus a forgotten Bug:
