Nice scales! I’ve also been in the mood to add some more micarta to my knives lately. RGT is certainly one of the options I consider, but getting stuff from the US hasn’t been a very enjoyable experience lately, so I was hoping to source something a little more local. Cuscadi has a pretty good reputation, so I’ve been checking their web page with semi regular intervals lately, but it keeps saying the web shop is unavailable, please check back soon. I don’t know how long this has been going on, but I find it interesting that you (apparently from Germany) buys from the US, when there seems to be a reputable maker in Germany. Was there a particular reason? Like quality, available options or did you also unsuccessfully try Cuscadi first?
@aicolainen I got two pair of scales in micarta from Cuscadi (for PM2 and Manly Peak). Cuscadi makes really nice scales but compared to to these RGT scales they are a little rustic finished. And they were more expensive than the RGT scales (paid 69€ for the RGT scales and 100€ for a set of Cuscadi scalces as far as I remember). Pro Cuscadi: On request you can get unique scales for nearly every knife. I could get the RGT scales in a German shop in Hamburg, ASW Altonaer Silber Werkstatt, and I can recommend them 100%. So no need to order in the US. Unfortunately these scales are out of stock very quick, but at the moment there are still some on stock (different micarta models for Para 3, PM2 and ZT 0230/0235). And they ship to Norway RGT - Ripp's Garage Tech @ ASW Altonaer Silber Werkstatt
