@xevious: I've fantasized about getting one. Its just that its such a large blade... I've known about the Hundred Pace snake (the real critter!) since I first lived in Taiwan back in 1981.... One of the stories told about its origins has to do with the ending of Japan's occupation and governance of Taiwan towards the end of WWII. Japan had control of the island from before Western countries had paid much attention to Japan's war with China, etc. At any rate, the story went that when the Japanese finally were forced to withdraw from the island, they had to do something with their research facility dedicated to cross-breeding snakes for greater venom... On the way out they supposedly just opened the 'cage' doors and let the snakes loose. I don't think though that the actual 100 step snake was a cross breed. There're stories of a krait of which it was long said, '...if you get bit, you can walk 100 paces... then you fall down dead.' I'm inclined to believe it is not just hyperbola! Am Yisrael Chai! Great story, Moshe! Always fascinating to learn about curious bits of history like this. I agree, the blade is rather long at 4". Not a bad weight though, at 5.2oz. But it would've been better had they aimed for a 3.5" blade. This doesn't look like a kind of knife you'd use as an everyday punisher. It's more of a unique collectible, something nice for occasional carry.
