I'm sad to say but i had no clue it existed. I love everything about it. I love the wharncliff blade, the button compression lock, the carbon fiber. It's the perfect size to carry with pretty much anything. Along with s30v steel? Yeah... they money i had saved for a microtech took a hit haha. Thanks for bringing it to the forums!
Current Manix collection, hoping i can run across the the moonglow EDC forums versions for a decent price one day. Haven't had much luck though.
Well, unfortunately for me most offerings from Microtech are prohibited in my area so that's not really a problem for me. Besides, this who forum is predicated on enabling one another. I'm happy to be of service. Living the dream, one nightmare at a time.
I don't understand some knife laws, I get not being able to carry a machete hidden down your pants sure. My honest opinion though, if the person is out to hurt someone the knife, and style isn't going to make much of a difference.
That's right. The knife was born in the US but has been raised in Germany: - scales from Cuscadi - blade-, clip- and screwfinish from SARTOOLS - bought over the TFDE marketplace in 2013 - added the backspacer, another Cuscadi custom order, in 2014 - removing the fragile blade tip (dropped it), some fine tuning with wet sandpaper on the spacer and scales, getting a free falling blade without bladeplay and making the blade an awesome slicer (when I bought it, the blade had already lost quite a bit of material, which changed the geometry and performance) by me Gesendet von meinem SM-G950F mit Tapatalk
My Junzi is taking a bit of a back seat and my BB Urban is getting more prime time whilst I excitedly wait for the release of the upcoming AEB-L Urban in Coyote FRN.
Seems to keep a toothy, hair shaving edge for ages. I've only ever had to give it the occasional very light touch on a croc stick. I live on the coast and it's lived in my pocket for months on end as my primary edc; not a rust spot in sight. In comparison I've carried the Junzi for a much shorter period but feels like I've had to touch up the S35VN more often. Not sure if this is just down to the thicker stock behind the edge, the overall cutting profile of the Junzi, or it's heat treat or what (I'm no steel guru), but subjectively the Elmax seems to cut for longer. Plus the stone wash on the Junzi seems to make the S35VN less stain resistant, so requires a tad more attention to keep clean. The Junzi is a great knife (so is the Urban) but I'd rather Elmax than S35VN; it seems easier to live with.
Sharpen it? Will most likely never cut anything I collect for craft appreciation, steel pokemon (gotta catch them all) and how they make me feel capable to do more. I have waterstones, diamond stones, a strop and sharpening rod. But I work in an office, I am not Outdoorsy and I live in Norway where wearing anything larger than a nail clipper is frowned upon. Also if I were to need to actually cut anything I would most likely grab for something marked OLFA ;-) from my S-A-M-S-U-N-G S9+ via T-A-P-A-T-A-L-K
